this is something I've been meaning to pass along. I was watching the Tyra Banks show (I love her, she's a beautiful person, and I mean on the inside too). Anyways, she said that some clothing manufacturers are thinking about putting warnings on plus size clothing that say "obesity is bad for your health" and her guest, whose name I don't remember, sorry, said that they should put warnings on size 0 and 1 that say "anorexia and bulimia are bad for your health." Just the thought of that made me very PO'd. when will ppl see this as a disease not a life decision to be fat?? I'm still mad that I had to pay more money for a swimsuit in my size, and other clothes as well, like the bridesmaid gown I wore for my friend's wedding. I was discussing this with a friend of mine, who's pretty tiny, and she doesn't see a problem with me having to pay more for my clothes. Trying to put it in a perspective that she could understand, I told her it was like me making her pay more for the flat shoes she has to wear (she wears a brace and cannot wear heels of any height). She got mad and said that would be discrimination, and I said making me pay more for a larger size is the exact same thing. we still don't agree on this, but hopefully I got my point across.

It is obscene how society thinks they can treat fat people... Like we are a bunch of greedy disgusting trolls who choose this life and deserve to be mistreated.

The only reason I don't get all wound up about paying more for larger clothes is because I realize that larger sizes use more material, so the cost of the materials to make them is slightly higher. Having said that, it does depend on how MUCH higher the price is, because the labor to make the clothes could not possibly be more expensive. I agree, it really gets me when people who have no IDEA accuse us of being lazy and stupid. We know perfectly well that obesity is bad for our health, just like cigarette smokers have been living under a rock if they don't know that smoking is bad for your health. Geez. Like we CHOOSE to be morbidly obese. I think you got your point across. Marcia
