Sunday weigh-in, 7/15/07 editition.
Good afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! It's been a hectic, but great week. Several WOW moments this week. I crossed paths with several old friends this week...one was totally surprised and the other one didn't even recognize me...that was exciting. Also went to Kings Dominion Amusement Park on Wed. with the kids and another family. It was GREAT not having to fear whether or not I would / could fit into the rides. ALL rides were a go! We had such a great time that we stayed until they kicked us out!

I was a bit disappointed I didn't loose more this week considering all the excersize I have done this week. I have swam almost every night and been walking and weight training too. I figure I will see more of a loss next week if I continue to eat right. If I could from my highest weight I am 10lbs away from my century mark

Hey Melissa - Don't be disapponted. I read something recently about exercise and weight. when you work out, you actually get mini tears in your muscle fibers and when those heal you build strength in the muscle. Well, when that healing is occuring the muscles grab onto water and hold it (thus you are retaining water weight). The article didn't go any further into depth but I believe that the water retention is necessary to release the build up of lactic acid from the muscle (lactic acid is what causes post-workout burn). So - don't get down! Keep doing what you are doing. More than anything else, you are doing something very good for your heart.
No big competition here - I'm sure we'll both make it to the century mark soon enough! I'm more aware of how much I've lost since surgery (including the 2 weeks liquid diet beforehand). Including that 2 weeks, I've lost 75# since making the "supreme commitment". I lost around 18# in the 6 months before surgery by the usual means of dieting and exercise (as much as I could tolerate then). That 18# would surely have returned and brought friends with it in no time if I'd not had the surgery.
Yea us ! ! ! ! ! A-Teamers Rule!

Loving the weight loss and had lots of energy yesterday...but not feeling so good today. I had trouble again with my pouch (didn't like the bite of lean turkey burger I tried to eat for dinner or the protein pancakes I made this morning). Oh well, back to the protein shakes for the day tomorrow.
