My First Wow Moment
Wow Moment For Me!
I tried on my husbands flight suit (he's in the Airforce) and it not only fits...but its a lil big on me!
I also tried on his levi's and they fit too! (I shouldnt of bought those new levi's the other day), i can wear his if i want to! Wow!
He still weighs 2 lbs less than me though. My next Wow Moment will be when i weigh LESS than him ....maybe next week?
Oh! Also, i still only have pictures posted of me from before my surgery. I really need to take some new ones now that ive lost 46lbs but im camera shy....and i dont want to ask someone to take a picture of me because ...well, again... im camera shy. I feel like i look the same, so until i lose more weight i dont feel it necessary to take any. People tell me that i look different, like ive lost a lot....but honestly i dont see it.
Wow, ive completely ruined my WoW moment for myself.
Ok ok....i am happy with what i have lost! And obviously i cant look the same if im fitting into my husbands clothes....but when i look in the mirror, i see the same person i saw almost 50lbs heavier. Does that make sense?? I dont know why i cant see it, maybe because i see myself every day? Maybe ill hide all the mirrors and take a peek next month...lol. Is this normal? To lose almost 50lbs and not see a difference? Hmm.
Congrats on your wow moment!! That is fantastic and there will be many more to come.
Now about that picture thing - you aren't seeing the difference because you aren't "seeing" yourself. You still see through your old eyes. You see yourself the way your eyes have seen yourself for all these years. You won't SEE the difference until you SEE the pictures! I think we will always see ourselves as obese until we see ourselves as others see us, because we are so used to seeing the fat self.
I am a firm believer in the picture theory - when I posted my one month pictures I hadn't seen a difference, even though people noticed and my clothes were a little looser, but when I really looked at the side profile and back pictures - omg, you could have knocked me over with a feather!! The two month pictures were even better and more changes were obvious to me.
So buckle up, have the hubby take the pictures (I suggest in the same spot and similar clothing every month so you have good perspective) and SEE how you've changed
You'll be glad you did it and have the documentation to look back on in a year - and keep you on task too.
Inky
Don't u just love those WOW moments.. I think it will be hard to get rid of the fat person inside us .. our heads have not caught up with the new us I don't see any difference.. as well..
but each wow moments is evidence that we r changing..

Lisa
Aww thanks everyone!!
Maybe i will take some pictures and see if Inky's theory holds true! Ill consider doing that this weekend! If i do, ill be sure to post them.
Lisa, you hang in there girl, you just keep at it and one day you'll wake up and BOOM! It will come off. Losing it slower is better....and healthier.
As far as weighing less than hubby next week....im not so sure. I tend to go a couple of weeks without a loss. The scale seems to sit with me. Im much like Lisa in the sense that sometimes i dont think the surgery is working for me. Im a slow loser i think compared to most. ...but thats ok! I'll take what i can get! Any loss is a Big Loss for me
The day i do weigh less than hubby i will be grinning from ear to ear, i assure you. Whether it be next week, or next month!
I was another that knew I had lost weight because the clothes were looser but couldn't see it until I took the 2 month photos. Holy Cow-what a difference.
As for hubby's clothes-that is wayyyy cool. I finally weighed less than my hubby about 3-4 weeks ago. I was so proud. He made it hard because he has been losing along wih me so he kept being abit less. But I caught and passed him and I'm not looking back.
GREAT JOB!!!
Your before pictures are beatiful. In fact, I wouldn't have guessed that you qualified for the surgery, but obviously I am no expert. Either way, you looked great before, so I'm sure another 50 lbs. off and you are probably smokin-hot. Get those pics taken ASAP. Not only will it help you, but the support of everyone on the site cheering you on will be great too.
Good luck w/ the catching (and passing) hubby.
Shana
p.s. Don't you just LOVE a man in a flight suit!
Hi Sharyn, first of all congratulations on your awesome weight loss! You must be feeling wonderful! Like you, I was afraid of taking a picture at 50 lbs down, out of fear that I wouldn't see progress and feel discouraged. However, how can you NOT see a difference with so much weight gone? Trust me, you will! I think seeing yourself in pictures will prove to you how much you've lost, and how great you're looking. It's a good way to see yourself more objectively. Keep up the good work-you're doing fabulously!
Thank you so much everyone! The support from all of you is amazing!
I never did get to take any pictures this weekend but ill definitely consider it sometime soon.
My husband asked me to try on his flight suit so he could see ....for a hot second i considered and thought about my promise of a new picture ...but i got shy and chickened out. He looked disappointed but he's well aware of my self esteem "issues" and didnt pu**** I promise, a flight suit on a woman is NOT flattering AT ALL. lol
Anyway, thank you again for the encouragement and support. You guys RoCk!!!!!
You're all doing soooooooo great yourselves! We can do this!!!
