Over eating?
I had a South Beach Diet Breakfast Wrap and could eat the whole thing. I feel "full" now but I'm not sick or anything. I'm afraid that was too much though. I know it was probably less than a cup of food which I'm allowed to have according to my NUT at this point, BUT I don't want to stretch anything or overeat. I did do liquids all day today and that was my first solid food for the day so I don't know if I feel fuller b/c of that or not. Did I over do it???
I think our pouches are pretty particular about "overdoing" it. I wouldn't worry too much if it was less than a cup of food. If you chewed it well, took 20 full minutes to eat it, and it's not threatening to come back up or make you explode, then you're probably okay.
I have days when I wonder the same thing, but I think it's because our perspective from eating 2-4 oz in that 1st month is so warped. 8 oz of food is still a reasonable amount, although I wouldn't go beyond that. My NUT says to eat until you are "satisfied", instead of "full" and you won't be stretching the pouch.
If you over ate I think you would feel really crappy....I felt like I wanted to get sick after I did one time.... I know I have this feeling sometime myself. I think it is because we have fought so hard before surgery that it is part of our guilt that we put ourselves through.....You are doing fine.....next time you want to eat a wrap eat half and then an hour or 2 later fini****I think it might help with your guilt.....But again you did nothing wrong to feel like you are...just our mind still messing with us.....
I don't think you ate too much. I can usually finish one of those South Beach entree's for a meal and I feel fine. But that's all I can eat and I'm good for about 4 hours till I start to feel a little hungry again. To me that's not much food compaired to what I use to eat per a meal. And I'm always concerned that I might not be eating enough to sustain me. But I look at it this way... about 1 cup per a meal (which equals one of those frozen dinners) without eating in between meals is pretty darn good. It's enough food to sustain you without over eating.
Cheers!
I had one of those for breakfast the other morning and was surprised I could eat the whole thing (except that part of the tortilla toward the end, it was too cold and too thick by the time I got down to it). I felt okay afterwards and if you look at the label, a wrap is 130 grams or about 4.58 ounces.
Not bad for 16 grams of protein!! And it tasted okay (mine was southwestern style), so I plan to eat them again. I was happy the chicken sausage didn't make me sick, since chicken and I don't get along well at all, but it's a small amount I guess.
