Well I hit day 10 and magically i don't feel the restriction .. like last time I see my surgeon again tommrrow and not sure he will do a fill with the recent infection .. I gained the 3 lbs back despite exercising my little heart off ... I show nothing for all my efforts .. here .. nothing at all .. Not sure what to do .. I am ready to give up .. why am i doing this????? I'm not gonna lose .. no matter how hard I try .. u think exercising alone would work .. I am consuming less calories they i was 6 mos ago .. I do not understand why i cannot lose any lbs this am i am 244 .. I gained again.. I keep losing and gaining the same damn lbs over and over again..soon time of the month will show and all the weight comes back .. I am sooooooooooooo depressed.. My family keeps saying try harder 3 hours a day exercise .. if i eat m ore to pervent starvastion mode i gain .. starve my self to death and not eat may work .. I had been on 200 calories a day diet in order to lose 20 lbs but even after that it stopped working .. why I choose the wls .. since april 1 i have only lost 13 lbs,, 7 of it was prior to surgery 6 since surgery .. something is wrong and i cannot figure what more i can do .. only thing I have lost is my mind.. I try and try and nothing is working.. according to my calulations i need to consume 300 a calories a day to maintain this weight? I am no where eating that amount.. I am lucky I eat 1200 .. I swear takes 10,000 calories to lose a lb with me .. I am sick of people telling me to be patient I think 11 weeks is alittle more than being pateint to lose only 6 lbs.. I give up.. all i am doing is drving my self insane..

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I know it sucks to look at the scale and see it going in the wrong direction. I think you may be going about something wrong. 300 calories a day is way way way too little. I know, I was only taking in 300 a day until my NUT yelled at me. Plus, working out like crazy is probably putting on muscle which weights just as much as fat. You may be losing 10 lbs in fat, but putting on 15 in muscle. You should talk to your nut and your surgeon and come up with a game plan. Keep your chin up and I am sure everything will work out.

Lisa: TRASH THE SCALE! Sure, you have been working your tail off, but think of it this way, you probably converted a lot of your fat to muscle! I know when I first had WLS, i was on the scale everyday. In fact, my mood was dictated by the direction of the numbers. This became such an obsession with me, that my husband broke the darn thing! So, my suggestion would be to get rid of it. Use your clothes as a measuring tool. As long as you continue to monitor your intakes, I am possitive that you will continue to see results. It may not be in a day or even in a week. But remember, we didn't gain all of this weight in that time either. Do you have any relaxation CDs? I would also suggest listening to them. Whenever I get stressed, I just find a quiet spot and throw my headphones on. In about a 1/2 hour, I am ready to fact the world again! Sorry to be such a blabber mouth. Anyway, keep your chin up woman! You are not alone. Just take one day at a time.

Maybe you should talk to your doc about having an RnY done since the lap band is obviously not working for you. My doc told me up front the lap band would not work for me because I lose weight so slowly. The RnY resets your metabolism where the lap band does not. Just don't use my results as a basis for judging the RnY.
