I plan on joining Curves once I'm done with all my other surgeries. I still have to have hernia repair surgery and knee surgery so I don't want to join Curves until after I'm all done & healed from those surgeries. But I only pay $30.00 a month for Curves (I use to be a member there), and I got a good overall workout there and I lost 7 inches when I was a member before. We live in a small town so I know everyone who goes the the Curves in our town... which makes it so much fun! It's like working out with friends all the time! Cheers!

I don't use a trainer but I do go to the Y and they have them there. I believe my sister paid $50 for 3 training sessons but she wasn't very happy with him so she didn't return. We now just work out on our own with the types the trainer gave her. Sorry I'm not much help but wanted to say the Y does have trainers.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit what I pay... I pay $59.95/mo. to belong to Lifetime Fitness. But the gyms are gorgeous and I am happy to spend the day there in the pools and sauna/steam room, etc. Plus, their class instructors are really well trained. I have paid less and not liked the gyms and hence, did not go. But that wasn't your question.... I am paying $99 per session for PT. Yikes! I know, I know... But I am being trained by one of the assistant directors at my club and she has made a point to research WLS and how to maximize weight loss when we take in so few calories. I am meeting with her once per week and we'll go for at least 12 weeks. Thank God I am getting a check from my flexible medical spending account! Even though its expensive, I definitely think a trainer is worthwhile if you don't know much about excercise. Especially now. With our reduced calorie intake, adding activity is a calorie expenditure and we have to be careful not to go into starvation mode. My tip is that if for any reason you don't like your trainer, speak up immediately. I have worked with trainers I didn't like and it is just not worth it. Its too expensive! Good luck!

I know the Y has personal trainers, but I just can't afford one. I wouldn't mind doing a few sessions though just to get a plan to follow. I do love the Y here though, it's really really nice

I was going to a personal trainer before surgery it was 15.00 a session which is only 15 mins. I thought it sucked and didn't feel that was enough time to see any results . I guess the old saying you get what you pay for was right there!!

I went with a plan that is called Choose To Lose! it is a 12 week plan that I have a personal trainer 3 times a week and a Nutri. once a week. With the deal I went with I paid just at $600 for this plan and a 6mo membership to the Wellness center that is grouped with the big hospital here in Orlando. After the 6 months I can reup the Choose to lose and another 6 mo for $450. The diet is not on par with our WLS but my dr uses the Nutri for pre op evaluations for my area and she is very in tune with what I need! After the year I can pay month to month for membership $34 per month and 20 30min sessions with Personal Trainer for $300. Hope this helps! I feel great and love going! People say they can see the difference and the do not even know I am working out!

My personal trainer has his own gym, and I pay 45.00 per 1.5hr session. I go twice a week and it is one on one. No one else in the gym, no interruptions. It is so worth it. I also belong to a gym where I pay 40.00 per month. But they don't have any exercise classes or aerobics, so I have to go elsewhere for that. I do use the exercises that my trainer has shown me on my own at the gym. He also runs a boot camp and I get to attend that for free, although I haven't gone yet as I don't think I am in good enough shape to keep up.....He charges 400.00 per boot camp session, it's about 8 weeks long. So I think I'm getting a great deal, once I start his boot camp. I also live in a very small town (pop 10,000) so there is only 2 gyms in town, not too much of a selection. Jody
