Hey guys....I have been such a slacker.....I have lost 53 lbs so far. But I feel like it should have been more. I was stalled for at least 2 wks. And to be honest with you I have been having probs w my protein...the protein my nut tells me to take gags me...so I dont take it. Please help. Any suggestions? I know that protein, water, and exercise will def help me reach my goal. I want to lose 200+ (overall), does that seem too unreal? My dr doesnt think so, but I want some outside opinions. I dont want to be fooled thinking I can do it and then just get my hopes up. Please help... thanks

Protein seems to be the trick for me. There are many different brands and flavors available. If the one yout nut SUGGESTS is nasty, try another. It's YOUR journey, find what works for YOU, and stick with it as long as it does. Myself, I prefer the Isopure vanilla flavored whey protein. I think it's delicious. I mix it in the blender with milk and a banana, plus whatever fruit I have in the house - and it's tasty. I look forward to my 2 shakes a day. Isopure is available at GNC stores, but they are ridiculously expensive. You can find it on the net much cheaper. I buy mine at www.vitacost.com for $20.00 a 3 lb. jar. 200 pounds is not impossible, but I don't think anyone loses that much weight just by "going through the motions". You have to work it, hard, everyday. Just my 2 cents. DD

Correction: It's Natures Best Isopure vanilla. Here's a better link. http://www.vitacost.com/NaturesBestPerfectZeroCarbIsopure-CreamyVanilla Hope this helps. DD

There are some nasty proteins out there. It kills me to pitch some product I spent $20 on and didn't tolerate at all. I found that the Vitamin Shoppe chain has a nice selection of low carb whey protein isolates. My favorite so far is Elite Dymatize Mint Chocolate. I have a shake every morning on the way to work. I've got an hour drive, so I can usually get the 6-12oz needed in during the trip (liquids are no prob for me). I've found that it really helps to make it really cold (I add ice after it's good and mixed). It also gives me a chance to add some fiber-sure. Check out bariatriceating.com - they have a nice sampler pack for protein mixes.

don't forget guys if you buy protein from gnc and it sucks after you try it you can take it back I have taken back iso pure ready made drinks like 15 after surgery I couldn't tolerate them. I also tried the isopure chocolate and the vanilla yuck!! I returned those as well they were 52.00 a jug!! So if you hate it take it back!! I love sytrax nectar fuzzy navel it is awesome I get it at best price nutrition on line it is 21.00 a jug and fast shipping. I buy 2 jugs every 2 weeks to make sure I don't run out. I mix mine with 2-3 oz of OJ and 20 oz water I do that 3 times a day so I am getting my water and my protein in. if you don't get enough protein you will stall so please find one you like and hop to it!!

I wish I had known that. I have the optimum nutrition stuff and it's horrible, but I've had it for a few months. probably too late, and I'm so mad, I spent like $25 on something I hardly use

Hi Dawn , I wasted a LOT of money on protein that I ended up hating. The only one I can tolerate, that doesn't have that yucky whey taste is EAS Premium Protein in chocolate. It's a mix of soy and whey and quite pleasant. Costco sells a gigantic bag of it for around $25. Two scoops = 27 gms. protein. Keep trying different ones and you'll eventually find one you like!
