Getting a wig

I use to love looking at like fredricks of hollywood wigs I thought they were really hot looking!! I say go for it! dee

Around 3 years ago I got very sick with TSS and consequently lost all my hair from it about 2 months after getting sick. Before this, I always saw wigs as something very old women wore and that they where tacky at best..... But after sporting a baseball cap and loosing 95% of my hair I decided to go to a wig shop and buy one. I learned a lot that year in a half as I waited for my hair to grow back to a decent length. EBay is the place for wigs. You can save 50% to 75% off retail... and even more if you buy wigs used. Usually they where only used for photo shoots and the tags are still in place. For whatever it's worth... look for wigs with bangs (the ones without look fake unless you purchase a 1000 dollar one with french lace along the hair line.... and even then it doesn't look very real to me) Look for one that has a part cut in where it has a material that looks like real scalp. No one knew I was wearing a wigs because of that. Also.. Full human hair wigs are nice when it comes to texture and durability but you have to wash them often and style each time.. Which I hate to do with my real hair.. and on a wig it can get complicated. Although many hairdressers love to do it. With the synthetic hair it is always styled and very easy to care for. You buy special shampoo for it... but I remember one time I opened my oven to pull something very hot out and melted the front bangs on my wig. LOL How embarrassing! I didn't realize it till later when I looked in the mirror. I preferred the synthetic/real hair mixed. I suggest you go to a wig shop.. try on the one you like... get the model number and buy it on EBay. You will save a lot of money that way! Also.. make sure that the wig has adjustable clips in it to fit your head size. Anyways.. sorry for going off on wigs... just thought it might be helpful to someone. I re sold all my wigs back to eBay... but if I need one after surgery.. I will have no problems wearing one. I got the most compliments on my 'hair cuts' when I wore the wigs.
