Hi, I am a Information System Supervisor for the Federal Government. I've been a computer Wizard for 20years. I haven't worked in the last two years due to my weight and other health problems related to Hepatitis-C. I had a liver biopsy during my Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy and somehow over the last year I've gone in to remission. I no longer have Hep-C. I've been feeling so good since surgery that I'm looking at returning to work in the Albuquerque New Mexico area sometime this year.

I have worked in human resources for 8 years; the first four as an Executive Recruiter for Harrah's, then spent a couple of years opening Wynn Las Vegas, a mega-resort on the LV strip. I returned to Harrah's last year and am currently managing the Health and Wellness area in the benefits department. My job consists of developing and building on-site fitness centers and doctor's offices for our employees and their families. I also manage programs that teach people about wellness through on-site health educators, Healthy Pregnancy, and of course, our Bariatric Surgery Program. Yes, I make the rules and make sure that people stick to them in order to have WLS. I really like my job, but the people... well you know how that goes sometimes. You can't win 'em all, so I'm happy that I do what I do, otherwise, I'd be in the market for a job!

This has been a really interesting thread. I love reading about our diverse backgrounds. Up until my surgery I was a Contracts Administrator working in the D.C. area on Defense Contracts. My husband has been extremely supportive of my surgery and encouraged me to take a year off and to focus on my WLS and health, so I currently don't work. I spend my days making sure I get in my protein, water etc... Although it sounds boring I realize how lucky I am to be able to do this.

What a great idea!! I am the Business Manger for the local Council on Aging. I love it. Senior Citizens have wonderful stories. And as one of many baby boomers out there, we are trying to modernize the Senior Citizens Center concept.

I am a Senior Appraiser in our local County Assessor's Office. (This is real property appraisal for property tax purposes). I have done this for 18 years. 3 years ago I started an independent contracting business as a Secretary for Large Barrel races (horse events). This takes me all ove the western United States. In fact, I just got back from a job in King City. Fun thread..

What a cool question! I love reading what all of you do! I am a grants coordinator for scientists in the Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at a university. Iin the fall I will resume college again part-time. I was a music major (piano performance) years ago, then an art major (painting), and am now an English major. Some day all of my crazy credits will add up to a degree. I have no idea what I'll do after I graduate. I turn 40 next year and am considering grad school options.

Good topic. I am a Senior Buyer for a promotional company. I have been in purchasing since out of high school. Worked doing that through school and earned my BA and a few Associates. I like it because I will get to travel. I am going to Wisconsin in two weeks and we are planning my trip to China. Kinda scares me because I have only been out of the country once and that was last year to go to Jamacia for my honeymoon. I have a wonderful 4 year old girl, who takes ALL of my extra time. I have a very loving husband who I thank God for every day. Our evenings, for the last 6 months anyway, consist of remodeling our home. We are doing everything ourselves, so it has taken us a while, but we should be completely done after this weekend.
