Everybody needs some place to be buried so its probably a good business to be in, Shar ;) I work pt running an office for an Engineering firm. I am also starting my own Personal Admin Asst. company - I actually meet with my first 'paying' client tomorrow! The rest of the time I chase around my 3 year old.

I'm a lab assistant, phlembotamist as well. but now I do medicals on people who are applying for insurance. It's a great job that allows a lot of flexibility. Got tired of working other people schedules. Also working in public health care is not very profitable. Jody

Shar I can defiently say that your job is respectful. People really need compasion during those times. As for me I'm a data entry clerk. I hate it. I am heading back to school this fall to finish my B.A. in Psychology. From there hopefully I can find a job that I love and work my way through my masters degree.

This is a good way to get to know everyone better. I am a Rating Team Lead at a Insurance Co (Business/Comm Auto). Been there for 8 yrs now and that is when I started putting on my weight with the sit down job. Prior to that I worked in the shipping dept of a warehouse and was always moving. You job must be hard at times, but it is nice to meet a compassionate person in your time of need. Take care, Danielle

The funereal home that katie was taken too they were so good they allowed us to dress katie our final act of service for her very healing.. they even speaded out a blanket out and made it a peaceful experience..in our faith dressing the body is a act of service for our love one we placed blankets in her coffin to make it look like a bassinet not a caskett .. very healing to our family .. Gee, Lisa, you have sure been through the ringer!!! But, what an accomplishment for your daughter with CF to graduate, You must be so proud of her. I, too, sitwith families and cry. ....especially when it's a child. It's a tough business seeing sadness and tragedy all the time. But I am also rewarded and I feel great about what I do. As you should, too. An EMT is hard work. I think all *****sponded have great professions

Hi Shar, I'm the night shift skilled trades supervisor for a large furniture company (Herman Miller). I'm a master electrician, by trade. I have an Associates in Industrial technology, and am currently working on my BS in Industrial engineering. I've worked nights for 14 years now, and the only way to get a 9-5 job with the company I love is to learn a new job. So at 44 years old I'm back in school. DD

I am an auto insurance claims adjuster. It's sometimes very frustrating, and is always busy. No time for myself during the day (except for lunch time) which makes it hard to eat/drink all the things I should be. Sometimes I only get in about 20 oz of water (well crystal light really) per 8 hour work day! I've had to set up a reminder on my Outlook calendar to pop up ever 5 minutes to remind me to take another sip! Now I just have to work on getting in more calories (long story! & I never thought I'd say that) I've been an adjuster for 10 months, prior to that I worked in another dept (Salvage, when you're car is totaled & you transfer the title to the insurance company, the salvage department takes care of send the title to the salvage yard & processing the sale of the car.) I was in that department for about 10 months too. I also go to school full time and will be graduating next bring w/ a BA in Communications w/ an Emphasis in Entertainment (definitely a So Cal degree!) Then I'm going to go to law school. I'm on the 7 year college plan (or 10 year if you include law school!) Life has gotten in the way of finishing my degree but at least I'm almost done! I love this post too. I think it's definitely important for our April family to share!
