worried

this is a little ot, but anyways I have a bit of a confession to make. I've had trouble with leg swelling (the right one most of all) for quite a while now. I didn't say anything to my docs pre-op because I didn't want it to delay my surgery. yes I know that was really really bad and it could be a blood clot, but it was just desperation. I did finally go to my PCP and am having a venous doppler on friday. I kind of think it's a blood clot but don't know for sure. some days my leg gets huge, it did the weekend of that wedding I was in. but now it's "normal" a little swollen but not bad. yell at me all you want, but I am a little scared now, should have been before, but had my mind on other things.

ok lets say u r having blood clots .. well they will most likely give u blood thinners for the rest of your life and probally look for the casue of blood clots .. is it heritary or from surgery or what ever this is my opinion but do check with your doc here is where the good news comes in losing weight will lower your risk of having blood clots , they can put a filter in so they will not travel to your lungs. very simple and easy ,, procedure My hubby had DVt and PE prior to WLS,, His doc said u have more chance of dying from blood clots being obese then having the surgery .. Losing weight will lower your risk ,, so u r on the right track even if u may have a blood clots now your risk will greaty reduce when u r not heavy any more .. Talk to your doc and ask when do my risk of blood clot lowers after surgery hubby was told 30 days and dramatically goes way down .. and if u do have a clots ask about the filter and also ask why r u forming clots do not let them give u a lame answer .. thier r so many reasons why people form clots.. and if u don't like your doc who is handling this go to another doctor having clots means get your self educated and armed with question and above all keep legs up and be pro actice in your care .. and if u ever experience any diffacult breathing call 911 .. or head to er .. do not delay .. good luck Lisa
