Having a hard time getting in Water
Here is what I do:
1. Always have a bottle of water when I leave the house (I stick a few in the freezer and take as many as I need for the time I'll be out)
2. As soon as I enter the house I make glasses of ice water and set them around where I am going to be in the house
3. I make a game out of it, actually more of a challenge. Like I am eating now but in an hour I'll get my water bottle and challenge myself to drink the whole thing in an hour. And I always take a bottle with me when I leave work and challenge myself to drink the entire thing before I get home - actually with Chicago traffic, the challenge often becomes not peeing my pants before I get home.
You're right though, it is not easy. I am constantly thinking about drinking or eating. RNY is a full time job!!
Good luck!!
buy a shaker cup when you have your protein drink fill it to the top thats 25 oz of water and do that 3 times during your protein that is what I do and I am now getting my protein and water in everyday. I feel better and my skin look good too. I use nectar fuzzy navel and put 2-3 oz of OJ in it and it is yummy! I just carry that around. good luck to you.
My doc said try to get 6 to 8 (8oz) glasses of liquids a day. I always get at least 6 glasses in and sometimes more but my goal is at least 6 (8oz) glasses a day which seems alot easier to achieve than 8. Having a bottle of water with you at all times is the key for me. I don't leave home without one and I always have one with me wherever I go in the house. I even have a bottle of water on my nightstand to sip on thru the night if I wake up.
The other thing I learned is that if your urine is very light in color... like you could read thru it... then you are getting enough water. If your urine is dark in color or would be hard to read thru then you need to increase your liquid intake. My urine is very, very light in color... it's almost clear with just a hint of yellow....so I know I'm getting plenty of water each day.
Good luck! WLS is definately a full time job...like someone mentioned before!
