Food amounts!
I just ate a taco supreme from taco bell and over half of a meximelt! Know I know that's a lot of food, it went down fine and stayed down. I don't want to get into the habit of eating this way again, and I don't intend to, but I left my lunch at home and have had a taco supreme before but it didn't seem like I was too full so I thought I'd see how much of a meximelt I could get it, almost the whole thing! I hope I haven't stretched out my pouch! Anyone else able to eat this much!
I don't think I could eat that much I have problems getting a hamburger or 1 soft shell taco down still. I find with Taco's I'm not full right away but about 10-15 minutes later I feel like I am going to burst. I have overeaten a couple of times doing that so I tend to eat really slow now to help me digest and get full faster.
All I can say is I wish I could eat that much. I gotta admit sometimes I get worried about how little I eat. It just doesn't seem enough to sustain a person. I'm looking forward to when I can eat a normal healthy portion at each meal. I don't want to over eat but I do want to eat a normal healthy amount. Mexican foods seem to be the easiest thing for me to eat... everything seems to go down well and stay down. Even tortila chips don't bother me. But like I said, I don't eat much so I'm not worried if I indulge a little here or there.
Cheers!
I can't relate at all. My surgeon is so specific on what we can eat at this point after surgery, I haven't even thought about eating at a fast food resturant. The only thing I have ordered out is a grilled chicken breast. And I was only able eat a few bites of that. I can't even finish a hard boiled egg. It is very interesting to read about all the different foods that everyone is able to eat. I know the day will come for me when I can eat a wide variety of foods, but for me I am trying to be very cautious, maybe even overly cautious, but I don't want any complications, and thank goodness, so far I haven't had any.
I wouldnt worry about stretching your pouch at this point. I've heard that it takes a lot of continuous overeating to the point that it hurts to stretch your pouch out. I am really bad about eating too fast and not feeling full-even though i know ive eaten enough food, then taking another bite or two... luckily i havent gotten sick from this but i've heard it can happen. I've heard our pouch can hold about 1/2 cup of food at a time so i try to not eat more than that.

Wow, weird thing is that I just was able to eat more this week, like something happened, the swelling went down or something....but I'm not going to do that again. From now on it's back to measuring my foods and only eating 4 oz at a time. This was actually a scary wakeup call for me, I just can't believe I was able to eat that much. Having issues with my daughter right now (we are not speaking as she stole from me and a bunch of other things) so I think I got into an emotional eating thing, which at least I can see it for what it was and hopefully learn to deal with it in another way next time. Thanks for all the input guys!
I had taco bell last Friday on my way to my nieces birthday party. I ordered a nacho bellgrande with no nachos. It was good I only ate a 1/3 let my mom have some and saved 1/3rd for later.
now I went to taco bell.com and they let you find out how much calories and fat of all your food together. the best part is you can add and subtract to get the real amount not a guess.
what you got was 28 grams of fat and 490 calories if you ate it all carbs where 37
for mine it was 320 cal 18 g of fat and 26 carbs if I ate it all. when I saw that I realized while it was good at the time it is way to much fat and calories for me even at 1/3rd. I never realized that before and if I got the chips with it it was 770 calories 44 grams of fat and 77 carbs! holy cow no wonder I gained weight I had no ideal how much calories and fat was in food at fast food restaurants.
this surgery has opened my eyes more about being real with myself.
