OK major question about food quanity.
I can eat a whole lean gourmet dinner. I don't get sick full I am satisfied! How is that possible? I just looked and they are 8oz net weight is that frozen? They are 230 calories and 6 grams of fat. I can eat the whole thing of there beef pepper steak with rice. (YUMMY) I can almost eat the whole thing of the 5layer lasagna(2/3rds) and roasted sirloin with egg noodles. OK input please !!!

Well, first thing to consider is that 8oz accounts for weight, not volume. When they say our pouches hold 4oz, they mean 4 fluid ounces (a volume measurement). The other thing to consider is that the meals may not consist of a lot of dense foods (like chicken breast, beef, etc.), they use a lot of fillers in frozen meals, so a lot of sauces, veggies, breads/rices/noodles which do not take up as much room as dense foods. When I eat a frozen meal (which I am actually doing right this second), I pick out all of the meat, then the veggies and leave the noodles/rice behind (maybe using just a little with the meat as a condiment).
I am told that at our stage we should eat about 1/2c. or 4 fl oz. per meal (+/- depending on how you feel, but I wouldn't consistently go over). If you are concerned about quantity, I would take your meal, measure out the 1/2c portion, and either refridgerate or toss the rest. That might give you some piece of mind.
Good luck!
Im not trying to harp........just concerned, but those foods are no good. They have lots of carbs for one.........rice, pasta.......big no no. Please try to stay away from those! Like I'm any better when I tried to eat a couple Lean Cuisine ravioli's because my hubby wanted to get rid of it out of the freezer!! lol

My dietician said that her goal is for us to be able to eat 1 cup of food at a meal. She said that most are able to eat that much by 6 month out. She also said at 6 weeks out I can eat Lean cuisine meals for my lunches but not to eat them for 3 meals a day. I'm not allowed to eat steak or rice until 6 months out. She did tell me that 500-600 calories at 6 weeks post op and later is too little calories and you need to add more calories to keep your body from going into starvation mode. So I am to have 3 meals a day and a snack. I think your doing great.
