STUCK! - Ouch

Ok, I've been almost stuck, or felt a little sore when I drank too fast, but today I really pulled a stupid trick. I ran late going to lunch so I ran over to Chipotle grill (btw, it's pretty easy to stay on track there!) and grabbed a burrito bowl to eat on for the next week or so (LOL). I got shredded pork, pinto beans, hot salsa, a dab of sour cream and a little cheese. I doled out my 4oz of it, and put the rest in the kitchen fridge (for someone to steal later). By that point I had about 10 minutes left of my lunch 1/2 hour and my 1:00 appointment arrived early. I got her started and sat down to try and eat slowly. Maybe it was all the rushing around, or maybe it was just forgetfullness, but I ate too fast. I felt funny after one bite, but stupidly took another. Then it happened, I felt everything starting to back up. I stopped eating (of course), then my mouth started to water prolifically, I felt the first few dry heaves and off to the porcelain throne in a rush. I didn't hurl, but I did spend some quality time leaning over the precipice. Took about 15min to settle down and 1 hour later to finally feel right again. I'm pretty sure it wasn't WHAT I ate, because I've had that before with no trouble, but rather HOW I ate. That sure will teach this puppy what not to do in the future! Believe you me, you don't want to eat too fast even at nearly 7 weeks out - it's not worth it!

Been there. Still happens to me too. Usually when I wait too long between meals, and then try and eat like a ravenous dog. 7 weeks or 7 months, I think it's one continuous learning process. DD

Been there myself and I feel your pain!! For me eating too fast is probably the number one cause of but, yum, chipotle - i miss those!!! we're headed to San Diego for a weekend in august and I already have Chipotle planned for one meal (or several if our room has a fridge and micro, lol). I wish my husband ate what I ate, we'd get off cheap then!! Inky

I;m so envious! I can't have pork for another couple of months. Does chipotle have anything w/ turkey?

Hola, they have chicken, and also vegetarian style. I'm hoping by August I can eat pork, if not at least moist chicken. Tho, I laugh when i get all worked up over tasting something and get in 4-6 bites and hey, wow, that was great, i'm full. it's still a very odd experience. Inky

Unfortunately, I know what you mean. I have learned you really have to plan everything out because if you rush you will get sick and that is not a good feeling. Roz

Oh yeah, been there many times, unfortunately! It's so hard to change our habit of wolfing down food-I don't know when I'll finally "get it" for good.

I'm 8 weeks out and I have the same problem. That happens to me every few meals. I'm trying to slow down. When it is something I am really enjoying, I sometimes forget. Just like every few weeks I forget and take a big gulp of something to drink and that doesn't feel good either. Hillary

For some reason, I only get stuck with pork. I can eat it but it doesn't seem to like me. I think it is because it is very dry. After it gets stuck, it decides to come back up. Gross. I always dry heave but today something came up. :barf: So pork is off my menu unless it is shredded or something else.
