OT venting

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm a very understanding Military wife. Dangit I'm the Family Readiness Group leader. However, today is a day when I actually needed my husband to be on time. As I stated in my profile the last few days have been kinda difficult. My blood pressures are taking a significant dip and causing me to be lightheaded no matter what I do. This means I can't cook dinner I can barely walk to the bathroom on my own. But noooooooooo some freaking slideshow has to be done so damn my spouse. I was told to discontinue one of my meds today but that was after I had already taken the offending med. All he really needed to do was come home for half a freakin hour and make the kids' dinner and he could have gone back to work. Ok maybe I'm just pithy but it certainly seems like he and the rest of them in the troop forgot that I just went through a life-altering procedure and that things like this could come up where I might need him. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Husbands! Sometimes they just don't get it! I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Gosh, and I sure hope they are able to regulate your blood pressure so you're not so lightheaded anymore. I wonder if that could be my problem. Yesterday while driving on the highway, I had to pull off the road because I got extremely dizzy and started seeing black dots in front of my face. I really felt like I was gonna black out and I was franticly trying to get off the road and stop the car before it happened. Well, thankfully I never blacked out but I did stay dizzy for about 5 minutes. Once it cleared up I began to drive again... but I was so freaked out the rest of the way. That is an awful feeling. Hope you feel better soon!

Lisa, I am glad you are ok. That had to be a real scare. The dizziness could have been caused by your pressure or if you are diabetic your glucose lever could have been too low also. I was on 4 high blood pressure meds pre-op..2 weeks post-op I was down to just 1 pill a day.

I'm not married so can't relate to your husband problems. But I can sure relate to the light-headedness and the feeling faint. Like most everybody here, I was on two BP meds before surgery. They kept me on one afterwards, plus changed a second one with a lower dose. Every time I'd stand up I'd nearly black out. So I finally called my MD who cut the second med in half. It was still happening, so I stopped taking that one completely. I monitor my BP at the gym, and it's been fine on the one med (around 120/70 or less), and my fainting has stopped. Yes, I checked with my doctor about stopping altogether, and he said ok. If any of you are experiencing that, call your doctor! You sure don't want to pass out while driving. This sounds more like blood pressure than hypoglycemia, but as a fellow diabetic, I wouldn't rule it out. Hey, that's what we get for losing weight! Marcia
