So, how long do these "stalls" last?

I so understand what you are going through, I just broke my stall this week. I agree with uping the calories to about 800 and make sure you get the 64 oz of water in. While I was going through my stall I wrote down a list of positives to review to keep me encouraged. It is not all about the number on the scale. Here is my list of positives. I have lost 42 lbs. I have lost 237.5 inches I have gone down a size in clothing I no longer take Blood Pressure Medicine My blood sugar level is normal I can shop without getting a back ache I can walk a mile on the treadmill I can easily tie my shoes Sex is Better.

If you are having trouble eating them, maybe you need to have more of the small meals. Also, you can up your protein drinks. I had trouble for awhile so tried eating more frequently and this helped me. I know it can be very hard to try and get your water in with the 30 minute rule. Sometimes, one or the other has to give while you build yourself up. With this pressure, do you possibly have a stricture which is limiting what you can take in? Obviously this is just me trying to help, I am not a medical professional. (Although I think we all become one in relation to our surgery!!).

You know, I've wondered if I have a stricture, but I can get liquids in okay, although they do hurt most times too. Perhaps I should call my doctor and see what he thinks. Thanks for the help!

I went to my one-month post op to day and the surgeon warned me that I should expect a stall soon and it will last "several" weeks, so I think it's pretty normal to have them. Someone else mentioned measuring yourself and I think that's a great idea. Once upon a time I lost 88 lbs on weigh****chers and stalls happened every 20-something pounds, but I lost inches during that time. I forgot to measure pre-surgery, but did on May 12, and plan to again June 12 to see. Also, have you done pictures, because I was SHOCKED to see my behind and my belly roll had shrunk at 30 days, even when I was/am still wearing a size 26/28. They just fit much better now (read: they were way to tight before but it was the largest size at lane bryant!!). So hang in there, Tami, we're all going to encounter stalls while we lose the weight. Up the water, protein, walking is what my surgeon suggested when I get to a stall. I've gained and lost the same pound over the last five days, that's frustrating enough, I know a stall won't be fun either!! Hugs, Inky

I just love me some Inky! Thank you for the words of wisdom, much encouragement for me! God bless you child! I will take some photo's tonight....I did measure and I am losing inches like crazy, but I keep thinking I must be measuring wrong, cause how can inches be gone but the weight be the same....where is the fat going? This is all so crazy to me! I'm just gonna walk real good tonight! Thanks Inky. I too was shocked at your before and after pictures, this early on you look like a whole new person!! Now I have lost pant sizes too, went from a 22/24 to a 16/18, kinda in between a 16 and an 18.
