Most of you can only eat a 1/4 of a cup of food. Why is it that I can eat around a 1/2 cup? Did I do something wrong and stretch my pouch? I dont what it could have been other then I ate until I was full? Today is going to be my first day back at the gym on a treadmill. Wish me luck. Amanda

I wouldn't worry. I was able to eat around a 1/2 cup at the same point you are at. My doc and NUT said that is totally normal and perfectly acceptable. I have never understood why some are eating less. All I know is that I am feeling good and I've lost 60 lbs at 8 weeks. Must be going alright, right? PS - Don't worry about stretching your pouch with a 1/2 c of food. The pouch is very resiliant and people who stretch it generally do so much later when they are feeling better and start eating normal size portions of food. I would add the disclaimer that you should ask your doc this question too and make sure that he/she is comfortable with your progress.

Thanks for that Jessica...I dont know whats wrong with me anymore. Since surgery everything and I do mean everything makes me nervous. I was never like this before. I think its because I'm at the point where its okay to try new things. Everytime I try something I think I'm doing something wrong. I've got to change that thinking. I eat and when I'm full I stop. Thats the point of the surgery Amanda

You haven't done anything wrong! You don't have as much swelling as others. Also, if you tend to drink as you should, then your pouch is more relaxed and can take food better. Good luck to you at the gym. I started at Curves today and it felt wonderful!

I never thought of it this way. I have been good about getting my water in until the past week. I might not be as swollen as someone else...thats a great thought. Thank you for giving me a different prespective. Amanda

You are on track....I was on 1/4 of a cup while on blenderized and soft foods. When I started solid food I went to 1/2 cups at meals. I still don't always eat 1/2 cup...it depends on what I am having.

No need to worry. I was told by my doctor to eat a 1/2 cup three times a day.

I also was told 1/2 cup three times per day. Anything over that and I'm sure I'd explode!

I had had one fill so far and I feel like I can eat alot. Way too much. But I know that there is no way that I am eating what I use to. The doctor says I am doing great. Good luck.

I eat 2-4 oz (weighed), so technically, that's 1/4 - 1/2 cup. It does depend on how I feel and how solid the food is (chicken and turkey or dense fish is much less than cottage cheese).
