Hey Everyone Its been about a week since my last protein shake. I was tolerating them well but all of a sudden every drink I took no matter the isopure flavor I gagged. So today I bought some unflavored unjury. I was wondering what your favorite way to mix it in is? Even if you wouldnt say its your favorite how do you use it? I am thinking about making a fruit drink with it like a smoothie or something. Help is appreciated. God knows I need that protein. Happy Days to Everyone Amanda

The nurse at my office mixes it in with SF hot chocolate (not too hot or the protein gets funky). I know it's kinda warm to be drinking hot chocolate but in my opinion the warmer drinks are more soothing anyways. Good luck to you!

i can't drink any of the regular protein mixes. they make me gag. Try Achiev drinks - the orange one is the best, vanilla is good, hazelnut is good, the chocolate one is icky. They are premixed, smooth, not thick at all. And perfect for a pick me up =0)

Like Melissa said above, unjury is pretty easy to mix - unless you get it too hot. It clumps up if you mix it over 130 degrees F. When I was mixing it with soups, i'd actually get out a meat thermometer and cool it down with ice until at or below 130 dg. AnyWhey is another unflavored protein I've got around here - doesn't seem to be as picky about temp as unjury.

You can mix it with your favorite flavor of Crystal lite. I loved the isopure before surgery and for two weeks after. Then "pouch revolt" and I can not even handle to smell let alone the taste. I kept trying different protein drinks and could not stand any of them. They made me gag and I could not force them down. So, I have been getting my additional protein by mixing one scoop isopure vanilla, 1/2 cup NF dry milk, two cups NF milk and favorite NF, SF pudding. (each serving has 15grams protein). The dry milk makes it taste like a treat. I cannot taste the protein (which I hold my breathe until its mixed in). This has been a lifesavor for me. I am handling the solid food okay but liquids including water go down very hard.

Wow I thought I was alone in this disgust with the protein drinks... Does this get easier at some point? I am going nuts trying to get as much protein as possible in my diet.

I'm actually allergic to whey (who knew?). Beyond the gagging I got horrible hives from any protein I tried and when I was choking it down I felt like I was going to die. My Nut took me off of it a few weeks ago and I do 3 cups of plain old fat free milk a day and just add some cheese and sour cream to my refried beans (or try to amp up the protein through the foods I eat). I've been doing great with it. I'm not suggesting you just dump the protein drinks without discussing it with your Nut first though but I am saying that there are alternatives in case all else fails.
