Protein bars??
I know that I saw this posted before, but I was wondering what people are using for protein bars? I thought someone mentioned South beach high protein bars?? well, I found one in my desk at work and took it to school tonight for a snack and whoa! did I dump from that bad boy!! Stomach cramping like I took 5 laxatives (sorry, TMI but so true!!)
So, please remind me. Which bars are safest?
I realize we all dump from different things, so that's why I said safest instead of safe. Which are least likely to cause trouble? I can't tell if its the sugar or sugar alcohol that did me in. Thanks in advance.
Well I tried Kaski bars and they were ok, as for the sugar or sugar alcohols someone told me to add both up and try to find a bar that is lowest. Also sugar alcohol acts like a laxative so in a couple weeks try a bar again but only do 1/2 of what you did and slowly introduce them into your diet...It might have been just a 1 time thing....good luck and I will let you know what I find also...I was asking about a week ago so I am trying different things also...
I bought a box of the South Beach bars and I didn't dump from them but they did make me nauseated so I won't be buying those again. My surgeon wants me off shakes and on to bars this week so I'm finishing up the powder I have and then moving on. Not sure what to buy either. I've gotten the Atkins ones before but they taste so bad to me. Hopefully I can just hurry up and get to where I can get protein from food adn not worry about it!! lol
HiHealth. The website for the co that makes the bars: www.bnrg.com
I bought the Pure Protein bars (2 different kinds), and I can eat a whole bar without any troubles.
Pure Protein Revolution Choclat Peanut Caramel Bar - 32 g of protein, 2g sugar, 14g sugar alcohol.
Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar - 20g of protein, 2g sugar, 7 sugar alcohol
I ordered these bars from: http://www.drugstore.com
I like the 2nd bar better than the first.... but both are pretty good and my pouch seems to tolerate them both very well.
Cheers!
