when will we feel better
Hi Nikki,
I wish I knew when we would feel better. I have never burped so much in my whole life! And I tried to eat some low fat deli turkey, OMG, it hurt really bad. I still have the best luck with liquids and soups. But I am getting tired of them. And I don't think I am eating enough. I'm just not hungry enought to go to the trouble.
Take Care,
Joni
hi joni, i agree it is too much trouble to keep trying the other food they say we can. i just ate some cottage cheese and omg i hate the pain it causes. you are right about the pudding and yogurts and soups, but then they say we are not getting enough. i go for my 5 week post op tomorrow. since i go to utah sat. are your incisions still red? nikki
hey roz, go to dr.'s today for 4 week post op and i will let you guys no what he says when i get back. live in denver and it is in ft. collins. hour drive. appt at 2 45 so i will post tonight. let see how normal feeling crappy is. not yet ready to say glad i did this. if anyone thinks we took the easy way out. let them try this. ttyl nikki
Hi Nikki =0) I've had burping episodes that last 1/2 hour - it's pretty freaky. I sure don't want one of those when I'm out in public. Haven't noticed that it's a certain food that causes it, though. I'll be watching it closer. Seems to be that it happens when I've suddenly noticed that I ate more than i thought i could. I can eat quite a bit of watermelon. but hardly any meat... seems like my throat tightens up and won't release. Thanks for your post!
Sorry to hear you guys aren't doing well. Roz you and I have the same surgery date. So far I haven't had any episodes with food. I have stopped eating eggs. I swear if I see another egg on my plate I'm going to cluck. I have begun to do the cooking in the house again and that has helped. If I cook it I can eat it. Last night was Salt and Pepper chicken and Braised cabbage. The chicken did sit a little heavy but I think it's because I left the skin on the little drummettes. So maybe that will help. I have cravinigs for the things I loved to make. Spaghetti and meatballs, Hot wings. I guess it's not a bad thing as long as I make it healthy.
I say all of this to say maybe you just have to start tweaking and looking for recipes with lots of flavor and then eat really slow. I get tired of chewing before I get full. I noticed a lot of doctors say over a half hour but I try to stretch my meal over forty-five minutes to an hour.
Hope it helps.
J
