Never to late plan for a panniculectomy ,
I already know I will need panniculectomy , I mean after 7 kids and over 100 lbs to lose I will need this .. I been reading where people have their insurence pay for it when u have the following
Has has had substantial weight loss, stable for at least six months. stable key word here.
The panniculus causes a chronic and persistent skin condition, for example, intertrigo, cellulitis, or
tissue necrosis, that has not responded to six months or more of conventional treatment.
The panniculus hangs to or below the level of the symphis pubis.
The panniculus either:
significantly interferes with mobility or activities of daily living (ADL); or
contributes substantially to a recurrent or extensive incisional hernia or ventral hernia
I was told to go to doctor take pics of it the rash u get . Documentation is important . I would love to hear from anyone else what they have heard threw the grape vine about getting panniculectomy or any other plastic surgery that may be covered.
Be well Lisa
A friend of mine who never had gastric bypass surgery did have a tummy tuck and got her insurance to pay for it. She took picks of the rash she had underneath the sagging belly skin and went to her doctor's for perscription medicine to take the rash away. She did this for about 6 months for documentation purposes. I am gonna keep this in mind and get the documentation needed to submit to my insurance company. Because like you Lisa, I've given birth to 8 children and there's just no hope for my tummy no matter how many cruntches I do! LOL!
Cheers!
I was looking at the panniculectomy pics and mine hangs down already more than 99% of the people with before and after .. well at least u can do belly crunches i have no stomach muscles LOL to even do one LOL
I have lost total of 60 lbs from my very higest weight but only 21 from WLS and my tummy sags below the pubis already ..
I have thin arms legs . all tummy .. everyone says u r a petie women buried in fat soooooooooo true LOL
be well
Lisa
My insurance pays for up to 5,000 post-surgery, but since I actually design the benefits plan, your stipulations above will make it tremendously helpful for me to extend this benefit to those who have lost significant amounts of weight w/out WLS. Currently, we only cover it 12-60 months after WLS that is covered by the cojmpany also, but it's not really fair, so i am trying to make it available to others.
