Esophageal spams

I am about 1 month out and having esophageal spams and burning in my throat. Can't keep any food down and even water feels stuck. Called Dr. and he said I was in the window of misery ( he ain't lyning, cause I am miserable). Anyone else have this problem and how long does it last??

Aww, so sorry Maxine that you are having this trouble. I haven't experienced this myself but it sounds awful. You poor thing. Isn't there anything the doctor can do for it? Is there anything you can take to sooth your burning throat? I will be praying that it passes quickly and you heal fast so you can get back to eating healthy again. Hugs, Lisa

Thanx Lisa, I take mylanta for the burning and I guess he will do a scope to see what all is going on. I hope it goes away fast, cause it is a terrible feeling. Have a good day Maxine

What the hell is the "window of misery"? I am really starting to hate doctors.

He said it happens about 1 to 3 months out. You get a lot of mucus and throw up and you get spasm in the esophagus. I am waiting to have a scope, soon I hope

i stared having esophagel spams but i was prescribed chlordiazepoxide ,helps alot because sometime is just spams not acid refluex so can be confuse.

Could you keep any food down? I have not kept any food down for about a week, and this really sucks!! I am getting weak, guess I am living off body fat still plenty of it there!!. Should be having a scope in a few days, I hope. thanx for replying.

Well I do even I think I eat more that what I should eat maybe forcing to much food tell you dr abou this prescription really helps

and he doesn't think it is a stricture? that is worrisome
