Reaping the benefits....
I was watering the garden Friday night and the guy I live with came around from the front of the house. He said I took him by surprise and he couldn't figure out who in the world was watering my plants for a second until he realized it was me!
I went to the pool Sunday and was able to swim a mile in under an hour, including flip turns, which I haven't been able to do in years.
Saturday I pulled up to a friends for a wedding shower. I hadn't seen the bride in about 2 weeks and she had a fit about 'where did the rest of my face go'.
Still not able to comfortably wear the next smaller size (26-28, I'm around 32-34 pre-surgery) but I can fit into the clothes at least.
Thursday night (my first meal in a restaurant since surgery) I got a "have you lost weight" from a friend I hadn't seen in quite a while.
So even though my mirror still shows me the same image of myself I'm glad others are noticing the weight loss.
For me the nicest thing about WLS is I don't have the feeling that yeah, I may have lost some weight but it's only a matter of time before I gain it back. I know that the weight is gone forever and I'm just going to keep on losing.
One other nice thing. It was good to get home Friday and only eat a piece of turkey wrapped up in a piece of lowfat cheese for dinner. Completely satisfied and no clean up!!!
