Heria
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone else have a possible herina?? Had to call the surgeon last week cause I was having sharp pains at the top of my incision site and now I have a big lump. So I pretty much know it is. He wants to see me next Weds, but said if it is he will not be doing surgery till I lose alot of my weight. I have a freind who got a free tummy tuck when repairing hers, but dear gosh....I hope it doesn't hurt like this for over a year. Anyone know???
Thanks,
Dani
I have a 2nd hernia that needs to be repaired but my surgeon wants to wait till I lose a significant amount of weight first. I had the surgery before I had my RNY surgery but my doc opted to wait to repair it till I lose more weight.
It does sound like you have a hernia... it feel like a ball around your belly button and it sticks out. When I push mine in it hurts and makes me naseous. The more active you are the more it pops out and tends to hurt more too. I have days when it really bothers me but I'm trying to hold off as long as possible for the surgery because if done too soon I risk the chance of getting another one because I haven't lost enough weight.
Now the thought of killing 2 birds with one stone sounds wonderful! I would love a "free" tummy tuck when they repair my hernia.. that would be awesome! Tell me more about how your friend got a free tummy tuck. How did she get her insurance to cover it?
Take care and no heavy lifting while you have this hernia... that only irritates it more.
Cheers!
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for advise!
A old friend told me since her surgeon had to go in to fix her hernia that the insurance company would cover a tummy tuck at the same time.
I talked with my sister-in-law who works for BCBS and she said you can get the insurance company to pay by having a hernia repair or if you keep getting yeast infections in the folds of your skin to go to your Primary doctor and have them document each time. If it happens enough then most insurance co will pay. But just like this surgery we need to have it documented well.
Best of luck!
Hi Lisa,
Wanted to start by saying your new picture looks great!!!
I just got home from a 24 hour stay in the hospital. Turns out it wasn't a hernia it is a deep abscess that finely came to the surface. On Monday when we went to change my bandage it was red, hard and hot to touch so called my surgeon. He said to meet him at the ER in the morning unless it was more painful during the night. They did a CT-scan and sure enough. Started me on meds and keep me over night. They were going to open and drain this morning, but it had responded to the meds over night so doctor wants to give it 15 dayss on STRONG meds to hopefully get it out that way. Have a follow up next Weds to check for improvement.
Thanks for your advise though.
Take care,
Danielle
