Well first of all you are doing great....I am down 51 and that is from consult to today...but you also have to remember that everyone is different and how we lose is different.. But when was the last diet that you could lose 40 in a month and some days...Your body really needed time to adjust....I know I too was diabetic. I would not worry about the hunger pains.....Because like I think Lisa said when she started eatting more she lost....You know that we can not eat enough to cause damage to yourself anymore... what you are going through is out minds setting us up so that when we do fail it won't hurt as much....BUT YOU KNOW WHAT>>>...Our mind does not know that this is it......It is ok and you will be fine.....Because you are worried about it....You are more aware of what you are doing.....Soon you will get more at ease and understand that this is normal....If you need anything send me a message....THINGS WILL BE GREAT>>>.....I believe in you...

Wow 40 is amazing amount of weight to lose in a month.. U have to remember u have malabsortion going on as well as a small pouch.. I did go to support group where one lady could eating anything 2 days after surgery and she did lose all the weight she wanted ... she was just lucky,,, but she did admit she did have to exercise more. I find the higher the protien diet I am on the better weight loss.. I am eating fish 5 times a week as i cannot tolerate chicken very well.. and beef feels like a rock sitting there, I decided I need 90 grams a protien to lose for me it is not about low calories but it is about hi protien and 1200 calories a day what works for me .. I am walking some but seems I will need more exercise but being sore alot prevents me from doing more.. not to mention I have alot going on at home to make exercise a priority. Seems when my head started to adjust to this new way of life and I really had to work the program the weight came off.. weight loss is emotional physical and a metabolic process. I found it so hard to adjust to this.. I finally had to stop comparing myself with others and told my self this my diabetes is well controled right now.. a plus and 2.. even if I never lost another pound after having the surgery.. only 1% of lap banders will gain more . after surgery.. well being close to 300 lbs a few year ago .. I am gonna be happy being 240 right now .. i'm never going to be 300 lbs .again..due to WLS so I am 60 lbs pounds ahead of the game .. seems when my head thinks postive the weight comes off.. I think I had to feel I was fat fuel buring body not a fat storage body and as soon as I did that the weight came off .. maybe not as fast as i would like but it is still weight loss. I know I will have down days this is why support is important (I LOVE MY A TEAM ). to pick us up and to help those when they r down .. were all here for each other that is the key to weight loss .. Congradulations to 40lbs.. u know how many cans of crisco u have lost? Go look !! u will be amazed .. be well Lisa

Ditto on the Crisco-I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around 54 lbs. I'll go to the store tonight and try to get a better visual image! Thanks for the idea, Lisa!
