Everyone in my hospital support group was raving about these, and the NUTs were there moderating, so I assume they are ok for us. I have also seen them mentioned on these boards. I'm planning to get some, just haven't gotten to it. If you try them, let us know! http://p4.hostingprod.com/@freshenergybakery.com/protein.htm

I don't know about you guys, but at this point I am thinking whatever it takes to get the protein in without the foamy shakes. I went to Wal-Mart tonight and looked at what they had. I found one that I think I really like. It's probably not the best for me, but it's a VERY tolerable way of getting the protein in. It's the PayDay protein bars. It tastes just like a PayDay candy bar (I have never really been big on candy bars so I wasn't sure if this would taste good). This bar tastes awesome and there are 15g of protein. I could only eat half of it, but maybe I can tolerate the rest tomorrow. The middle of it is protein (not caramel like the candy bar) and they have the peanuts on the outside....so chew chew chew. Like I said, it's probably not the best for me, but I can't do the shakes for a little while. I get nauseated just thinking about them, and I haven't :barf: yet, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't want to. I can imagine how much it would hurt. ~Tiffany~ :fairy:

yes there are lots watch for sugars though i have been eating these and they are great for protein and taste 1) worldwide protein bars 20g found at walmart for about $1.00 a bar 2) atkins carmel bars 12g found at walmart for about $1.75 both great and for the price worth a try. I have been worried about sugars so i dont dump wich i have not yet and not on these bars so they are a good for us hope this helps.

At my recent follow-up appointment, the nutritionist told us that if you can find one with about 16 grams of carbs and 16 of protein then that's a good one. One that is in that range is Pure Protein and they come in a variety of flavors. Make sure you look at the sugar grams. Remember -- they are to help us get in protein, but to substitute as a candy bar break.

I love the Pure Protein bars. The ones I've found have 32g of protein. I can't eat one at a sitting, but divided up in a day still gets me 32g's of protein and I think that's good. The flavor is amazing, not like any protein bar I've ever tasted.

I just ordered 2 different flavors of the Pure Protein bars. I ordered Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter (20g protein) and Chocolate Peanut Caramel bars (32g protein). Here's hoping they are good since I ordered a box full of 12 each! Cheers!

I hope you love them as much as I do! If you don't, I'll buy them from you!

I like the South Beach meal replacement bars. They are crispy and really have to be chewed well, but they are quite tasty.
