1 month checkup...27 #s gone!
Wow - I had my 1 month checkup today...27 #s gone (+17 lbs before surgery = 44 #s total). Wow - I still can't believe it. I had been on blenderized food for the last 4 weeks. Now, I get to move to soft foods (mashable with a fork) for the next week. If all goes well, I can move to solid foods after a week. I'll just need to chew, chew, chew and go S - L - O - W! The Dr released me to go back to work on Monday and be able to return to Curves (my gym). I also got my 'restaurant card' - which allows me to order from the kid's menu when eating out. NUT said to try only 1 new thing at a time to make sure the pouch is OK with it and so I'd know which food causes problems if it doesn't work. I've really missed my salads and now I get to start adding them back after another week - yippie...just in time for the holiday weekend.
I'm so glad I decided to have this surgery and am so grateful that the Lord has blessed me so far on my journey. I am amazed almost on a daily basis of how this surgery has changed my life so far (some days are not so good, but most days are really good.) Friends and family want to know if I've gone shopping yet...but so far I haven't bought anything new yet - except a box of safety pins - haha!!!! Fortunately, I have several sizes of clothes in my closets just waiting for me to fit back into them. Best of luck to all of you on your journey.

Congrats Tammy! I'm so happy for you. That restarurant card sounds cool. I never heard of that before! I have children all under 12 so I guess I can just eat off of their plates.. lol
The only differance in clothing I notice is that it fits better and my underwear is loose. I'm super chicken on what to eat.. I'm still eating mostly full liquids when I was cleared for purees earlier this week. Everything just looks so big! I'm still eating with a babyspoon and it really helps me.
I can't wait to eat salad. I tasted some ranch dressing when I was cooking for my family today and just pretended! ha!
Anyways.. Great Job! I'm so glad to hear your doing well.

That's awesome Tammy! 44 lbs. gone forever! You're doing a great job following the program and it's payed off. Keep up the good work and enjoy eating real foods over the holiday! I know what you mean about craving salads. Funny thing is since this surgery I've only been craving healthy foods... like a nice tossed salad! Ah well, my day is soon approaching when I can get back to regular foods. Have a great weekend!
Cheers!
