Is anybody back on regular foods?
I was just curious if anyone has reached that stage yet were they are eating regular foods without having to mash them to death. If so, how's it going (or should I say how's it going down)?? Next week will be my 4 week mark and I'm suppose to start introducing regular (healthy choice) foods again. Just gotta remember to eat slow and chew, chew, chew!
And one more question.... I've been craving popcorn like crazy and I was wondering if we will ever be able to eat popcorn again...lol!
Can you tell by my post that I'm really growing weary of eating mushie foods.... It's really starting to get old and I'm sick of cooking these amazing dinners for my family and I can't eat any of it....ugh! Ok, I'm done having a moment!
Cheers!
Hi Lisa,
I just saw my dr yesterday and he started me on "regular" foods, well as regular as we are going to get.......lol
Still have to eat slow and chew like mad, but at least it tastes normal.
Last night I had some grilled chicken and pasta salad.
I am a big popcorn junkie and I must say that I miss it terribly
I think eventually we can have it, but it is a long way out from now.
My sis in law is 2 years out and she can have it.
Good luck on advancing !
Cindy
Hi Lisa!
Yes, I am on regular foods and have been for a little over a week. Everything is going down and staying down without any problems. The only little glitch I had was with fish and I think it was because it was hard to chew, chew, chew because it just kind of wants to go down.
Seeing that we have the same doctor -- have you been to your follow up yet? You will get a lot of nutrition help there with Peter (nutritionist) -- he is fantastic!
Yes.....the issue of popcorn came up, and we will be able to have it, but as Peter asks -- is it just to eat without thinking? Or is it part of a meal?
Hang in there!
Amber I think I've got that same lady as you. Sorry, but she is very scattered and hard to follow... and doesn't share anything new. She visited me in the hospital too and I tell ya it was a real waste of time... she never really answered my questions and didn't explain anything to me. I wish we had Peter too!!!! So come on Winner... tell us what you've learned from Peter!
Cheers!
I'm supposed to start today by adding one "regular" item per day, and I think it will be some chicken. I'm hesitant because I did have last night dinner not sit well (turkey puree) and my baby tummy didn't enjoy it - I think I ate too fast, which had happened with potato soup.
