I add Benefiber to my protein shakes everyday (if yu don't do shakes, add to yogurt or jus****er - it really is tasteless) and, of course, the 64 oz of water is critical. I find that I am more regular now than before the surgery. Oh, and if you are a cheese eater, you may want to back off of that a *****eese is a pipe-clogger for most

Hi Maria, Aside from getting in all the protein, constipation has been my biggest problem since my surgery (3 weeks ago this Thursday). I had to use a Fleet enema to break everything loose a week ago, and have since added benefiber mixed into either my V8 or a protein drink daily, and a stool softener daily. My doctor did tell me that a bowel movement at this point would be every other day or so, and that was normal considering the small amount of food I eat. I am happy to say that for the past week the stool softener/benefiber combo appears to have worked for me. And definitely you must have your 64 oz of water/liquid per day. Your body needs that to keep things moving and working right. Good luck with it, I know how unpleasant that feeling is. Inky

Someone on the RNY board recommended Smooth Moves tea. I bought it at GNC. It works like a dream. It is decaffeinated and doesn't taste bad either.

I say drink Juicy Juice. It WILL do the trick. It taste good and we can drink it. You should go to the bathroom daily after you start drinking it and it comes in so many different flavors. M.Y.

Juicy Juice may be allowed for Lap Banders but I would be very careful with RNY. I wanted to find some cranberry juice the other day because I thought I might be getting a UTI and the sugar content is through the roof in these juices. They may very well cause dumping.
