Hello Everyone. - Am I slipping??????
Hello Everyone.....Havn't been on for a few days...check it out!
Tomorrow, 5/16 is a month post surgery. I am down 29 pounds and feel GREAT!
I think I'm slipping into a bad habit. I am hungry and I'm eating a lot more then I did subsequent to my surgery. I have my first fill on 5/24 and hope this will help. The scale has not moved in a few days...as a matter of fact, it went up 2.5 lbs. This is not good. I read and read many successfull stories about you people losing the big pounds. I hope that I do not fail at this. Please share any information that you can. My children, ages 13 & 18 tell me that I'm eating more then i should be. The post op literature from the dietition says 1 ounce of this and 2 ounces of that....that is not happening. I also can not get motivated to get to the gym to excersise. I am feeling a bit of depression setting in over all this. Please , again....share what you know....have any of you experienced the same things as me on your journey???...Thank you.....Eric
Hi Eric - I am sure it is not as bad as you think. How much is "a lot more"?
I think we all feel like we are going to ruin the surgery somehow. For example, I just ate 1/4 of a hamburger and 1/2 c. of edamame and I am sure that I've just stretched my pouch out forever (which I haven't of course). You being a lap-bander, I am not sure what that feels like, but from what I hear, the fills really help.
Slipping? 29 lbs. lost in a month! Yeah, your slipping right into anorexia- you knucklehead.
You're doing awesome. Compare what your eatin today with what you were eating a year ago. Dramatic reduction. Your body thinks it's starving, and it's telling you to eat. That's biology. That's normal. You'll adjust. Don't worry about the bump up on the scale. It's temporary. It's all part of the normal ebb and flow of weight loss. Be patient. Stay calm. Think long term.
By this fall we'll be hanging treestands for everyone. Just because we can! Keep the faith, Brother.

Hey. I would say 29 lbs is GREAT. yes, we are only human so don't worry about the slip ups. After your fill you will not be able to eat as much. Well, I have heard that after your 3rd fill you have really good restriction. Just don't give up and know that it is going to take time. I am down 20 lbs and I am ready to lose more. I have my first fill next week and it just can't come soon enough! You are doing great. Remember they say the 1st 6 weeks is only your recovery period. M.Y.
