What are we eating???
I've done fruit. Mangoes, strawberries, melons, grapefruit, bananas, pineapple, and grapes. Met with the NUT last week and she approved of fruit for me (disclaimer - in our program it is ok at week 5-6), but she said that I should peel anything with skins until about 3 months (like apples, pears, peaches, etc.). You might want to limit citruses a bit due to the acid, but certainly have a little if you want it. Enjoy!
Hi Shar,
I don't know if I'm ready for confessional, but here I go. I'm a little adventurous (my wife calls it stupid) but I've tried most foods since surgery. Especially this week.
Saturday, We went to a Japanese steakhouse for mothers day. I had grilled shrimp. FABULOUS! No problems with the pouch. I ate Pizza rolls Sunday night. No problems. What has given me problems are chicken, baked of fried. Any potato. Bananas (raw) and any fruit for that matter.
Basically, My staple diet is protein shakes. Eggs, cheese, and thin sliced deli- turkey meats.
I don't care what I eat, If I eat too fast, (usually while distracted by TV, or while reading the paper) I will get the foamies, and have to hover over the toilet for a few minutes.

Dave,
You ARE brave,,,,,,,,,,,but, then , I will never forget that you were whacking the weeds the day after you got home. I had a quarter of an apple with peanut butter today. Boy, was that good! I have never gotten the foamies and for that I am glad! I am dying to try some lobster sauce at my favorite chinese restaurant, maybe over a scallop. Not sure when I'll be brave enough to try that.
Shar
I've been eating sushi with no problems...until yesterday...I guess I didn't chew it well enough and dang! was I in pain, my first case of foamies too...but other than that I've been doing eggs, cottage cheese, soft fruits, cheese sticks, ground turkey, soup....going to go and try some cheerios for breakfast! OH and I did get a treat for mother's day...the insides of a lobster roll....yummmmmmm!
Now that my stricture is fixed, I'm eating pretty much anything, within reason. Lean cuisines for lunch, apples (no skin), grapes, peanut butter, fish, cooked veggies, bites of salad, occasional bites of rice or potatoes, omelettes, sashimi, teriyaki chicken skewers, etc. I can't have anything too doughy like white bread or pasta. Other than that, everything's going great.
Wow,
I knew I was progressing slowly on the foods, but really didn't realize how slow....i am still on primarily protein shakes, soup, yogurt, rigotta, oatmeal type foods. Anything more solid and i run into pain and usually vomit promtly after. It was suspected I got an irritated pouch/opening at a few weeks when I started having trouble vomiting pills back up or just being in lots of pain...so we stopped all pills (either do chewable or disolvable, B12 injection) and i was told to go slow. It is pretty boring but I am a bit afraid to try new stuff, it just seems to come back on me or put me in misery for an hour or so. I spoke with my nutritionist last week and she said to give it 2 more weeks and if not better I am seeing the doc again.
I am still happy with the weight loss, but getting worried about the slow going...
