Hi guys, it's me posting again Anyways, I'm going to be in a wedding in June and am wondering what I'm gonna be able to eat at the reception. The main dishes are pizza and wings (not my idea I swear) but I don't really think I'll be able to eat either, I don't know. And I don't if I'll have a chance to get food that I can actually eat beforehand. I know the appetizers are going to be like a meat and cheese tray and some fruit, I thought maybe I could tolerate that. I'll be in Phase III by that point. Any ideas or suggestions for me?

Wynette, I don't know where you will be in your recovery by then, but you should be able to eat the toppings of pizza. Just make sure you chew... as for calorie intake...I don't recommend it, but it would be something in your stomach...the fruit is always good, and wings...you will be able to tolerate, or should be able to pretty soon. I am 4 weeks post op and have had wings :-$ just make sure you don't over do it or you will be hurting. All in all...you will be fine...and before that....you won't want anything anyway. Tiffany Good luck! :fairy:

Definately eat from the meat & cheese trays and the fruit trays... just make sure you chew really good and eat slow. And the wings should be okay as long as they aren't smothered in sugary barbaque sauce. Slip a bottle of water in your purse & maybe a yogurt or a SF pudding. Also, you can drink a virgin bloody mary from the bar! You should fill up fast and then won't need much for the rest of the night... then you can have fun dancing!!! Dance those pounds off!!! Oh one more thing that might help... try to get all your protein in before the wedding... a couple of protein shakes should do it. It will fill you up too! Have fun!!!

Honestly, I've had wings, pizza, deli meats, and cheese already. VERY SMALL AMOUNTS. They all worked out fine for me. You can't avoid these foods, or events, the rest of your life. This may be a good time to experiment. Moderation is the key. DD

You are brave. I am scared to try foods. Today I had some meatloaf from Boston Market and creamed spinach....and that was a big deal for me!. I have to get brave and try more things

I've had pizza. One small piece. I used a napkin to soak up the grease on top and then cut it into tiny pieces to avoid eating it too fast (not exactly dinner table manners, but we do what we have to!) My NUT said it was ok, but obviously not the best choice. Everyone else's suggestions are really good, but it doesn't sound like you have to fret about the food.

Hi, I actually had wings on Saturday. I only ate 2, but they filled me up and didnt cause me any problems. They were Great! You shouldn't have any problems with them as long as they dont have sugar. I havent tried pizza yet ( i want to) but im still a little scared to do any bread or pasta. Hope you have fun!! Michelle
