Hey ... Yeah I am still around

Okay so here the the "skinny" hee hee on what has been going on and why I haven't been around for a couple weeks. I am now 2 days shy of 1 month lapbanding postop ... I was feeling really down about the lack of weight that I thought I should be losing. I went to my 2 week post op appointment and everything checked out good... I was losing weight just as I was supposed to be. I went to my 4 week appointment yesterday ... apparently I am right on schedule with the weight loss - 2 pounds per week x 4 weeks= 8 pounds. My doc was very pleased with this ... me not so much, I was hungry all the time and could eat a lot - sure not as much as I had before surgery but certainly more than I should be. Soooooo long story short, he gave me my first fill - 4cc's. Today is a totally new day. I am so pleased with the first day of my new filled band, I was really discouraged before and I didn't want my negative lap band feelings to be spread around here that is why I haven't been around. But hey ... I am back and with a new outlook (now that I know the band is actually working!!!!) Yes, it has only been 1.5 days ... but hey - when I compare to what I was eating prior to yesterday afternoon to this afternoon I am elated! So what's been going on for all my A-teamsters? Monique

Well sounds like just about everyone on here. I will say that my weight froze for 2 weeks and I felt the same. But a new outfit that is great. Well just remember the faster you lose the more chance of loose skin is higher also..Hang in there things will be looking better soon.

I lost 13lbs right after surgery, but have stayed the same for almost 2 weeks now. HOWEVER, I'm droping inches because I'm down a full clothing size.

Wait u had a 4cc fill? I thought the band was only 4cc was the max fill capicity i am confused now.. I can probally eat anything right now and feel no restriction .. but i am still on mushy foods Today I had to breck down and take motrin becasue I had a root canal yesterday.. so far ok Man i went in with no pain on the tooth and came home with alot of pain be well Lisa

yup 4cc's, when I asked my doc how much he was putting in and he said 4cc's I found out that my band can hold up to 7cc's. So with the 4cc fill I have lost 4 pounds since Monday. And averaging about 500-600 calories per day. Seems I am on my way. Needless to say I am pretty happy. When I went in for the fill doc had some troubles locating the port - I was literally a human pin cushion! I can't remember the clinical word that he used but the gist is that my scar tissue is pretty hard still which made it hard for him to locate the port... thank god he did otherwise I would have had to wait another 2 weeks before he would try the fill again. I go back to see him on the 28th of May - just to make sure that the 4cc's are working for me. Monique
