What the doctor told me yesterday about birth control.

I went to the GYN yesterday and he told me that the pill, ring and patch lose there effectiveness if you are over 180.. So he wants me to get a IUD....or tubes tied but he said I have had enough surgeries in the last year that he really would like to wait...I do not want a IUD....my family has mineral allergies and my brother is allergic to copper...so I am still not ahead ....Darn darn darn.....Just wanted to let people know what I was told......

What about the depo shot Crystal?? I was on them a long time ago and I never had a period for a whole year. It was heaven

I love my depo shot. And I never get a period, which is wonderful. AND you only have to think about it a few times a year. I've never gained weight, but I guess some people have that as a side effect. Ask your doctor about it!

Well, if you don't plan on having anymore children then why not make hubby get the "snip-snip"!!! That's my game plan! LOL!

Well the Depo made me gain 70 lbs. I was on that for 2 years....I have a copper allergy. so IUD is not good...it has cooper in it....and Yes hubby decided to get a vasectomy....woohooo thank you .....finally..

I guess I am so thankful for secondary infertility .. I saw my ob gyn .. sat and he said I would not need any birth control on the fact I am 48 and need alot of help having my last child .. u know me hubby and the turkey baster plus truck load of fertilty drugs.. to concieve ,, Iud is out for me lifestyle conflict.. and all pills r more risky than getting pregnant at my age .. he thinks I will have no baby to worry about .. I hope he is right or I am sending him the bill of raising a child.. be well Lisa
