Well went to the dietician today, and she said "do you think you can do another week of liquids" - I said, "if I have to". She said, nah - let's move you ahead to the transitional diet. I can have soft puree's, low fat cheeses, and a scrambled egg for breakfast. Maximum volume of 3 oz. For dinner I had some suped up refried beans (2 oz) I made by adding some Any Whey protein and beating them into sumission. It came out to 6g+ of protein itself. I put a little (pinch) of low fat cheddar on it (just a pinch) and finished the meal off with a 0.7 oz piece of light string cheese (6g protein). Overall I got 13.8g of protein and didn't get too full (2.9oz). I tolerated everything pretty well - we'll see how it progresses from here. Oh, I also got that darned tube out - only hurt a little bit when the thicker part of it popped out. Ta ta for now.....

Isn't getting the tube out GREAT!!! I felt 100% better once mine got out. I am in the same stage as you, I can not tolerate eggs so count your blessings, love refried beans, let me know what else you find that is good. My favorite thing right now is, fat free ricotta cheese with Italian seasoning and fat free mozzarella cheese mixed together, add some SF spaghetti sauce lol jen

Welcome to the puree club!!! I had some refried beans yesterday for dinner too and they were delish! I added a little cheddar cheese & a dash of hot sauce... oh yum! Gonna have more today for lunch! Glad to hear you finally got your tube out! Sounds like everything is progressing well for you! Keep up the good work. With each new day it gets better & better! Cheers, Lisa (down 19-lbs)

I've tried the ricotta thing - very tasty. I put 1/4C of light ricotta on a dish and about 2-3 tablespoons of spicy pepper Spaghetti sauce, and about 1/2 oz of light mozzerella. mmm. Went down and stayed there nicely. I've been looking into recipe's with edamame beans, they're about 4g of protein per ounce shelled, so an excellent source of protein. I'll let you know what I find.

I am Jealous!!! With my doctors program I'm not allowed to have cheese yet. I did go to Wendy's today and had Grilled Chicken patty (just 1/2 of patty) & a couple bits of plain bake potato.. Yummy!! On my way out I bought a chili and I am going to try eating some tonight. Congrats...finely got rid of the drain tube.

I tried the edamame beans today, pureed with coriander, cayenne, garlic, salt and some olive oil. Very tasty and 10g protein per 3 oz serving. If anyone want's the recipe, let me know and I'll post it. Got 75g of protein in today, with small meals and one 12oz Isopure shake!
