Anyone else have Dizziness?
I have noticed in the past few days that I have dizziness almost everytime I get up. I have tried to keep moving so it isn't that I am not moving around much. It is a bit spooky to have everything gray out for a few moments when you are standing. What's weird is I didn't have this feeling until about 10 days after surgery.
I've had that too - I chalk it up to my falling blood pressures. Before surgery my BP with 2 different meds was around 130/85. Since surgery it has been around 110/60. I'm going to ask my Doc to change my meds at my next appointment. Are you on BP meds? Have you kept track of your BP?
Hope this helps.
Jeff
Me! I'm chalking it up to Ketosis.
Symptoms of ketosis include general tiredness, abrupt or gradually increasing weakness, dizziness, headaches, confusion, abdominal pain, irritability, nausea and vomiting, sleep problems and bad breath. [Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine 68(2001): p.761]
I'm having nearly all of these symptoms (though you don't have to have all of them to be burning Keotes.)
My breath stinks.. everything I taste is like a handful of pennies! I get suddenly weak at times and dizzy and my mind races when I try to sleep and I've had headaches too.
I'm getting 60 oz of water in a day on average and about 45-55 grams of protein.. so I know it's not a lack of diet.. I'm also taking 4 optisource vitamins a day.
Ketosis happens when the body doesn't have sugar to make into energy so it starts to burn fat instead.
I've been told the symptoms can last from 2 weeks to a month.
We will have to see...
I do feel like I'm getting better.
And I have to remember.. I just had major surgery.. not everything is going to be perfectly normal for a while.
