Hello my fellow April Losers!!!!! Is anyone else just plain sick and tired of their full liquid diet. I have done the smoothies, protein pudding, yogurt, cream of chicken soup. blendarized chicken noodle. I go back to the MD on Monday. This will be two weeks, and hopefully on pureed foods. I can definitely feel the weight coming off. I have not gotton on the scale because I know I will obsess over it. Anyway, did someone say cottage cheese!!!! Can I have that during this stage. My surgery was on 4/23. Have a wonderful Healthy Day everyone. Deltagirl 90

My banding was on 4/19 and I am still on liquids and do not advance to pureed foods until this Friday....so I have been living on water, broth and protein shakes....and of course one cannot forget the surgar free popsicles. I am looking forward to trying the cream soups, applesauce and cream of wheat (these are the ones I have picked as my starting foods) this Friday.....I was told to continue on the full liquid as much as possible and will see a greater weight loss. I know that this is true but my tummy is always grumbly......I weigh myself daily.....even if I tell myself that I won't I still do. It's a habit to step on the scale before I get in the shower. Today was a minus day. I know that our (Lap Banders) weight loss is slower but every pound that comes off makes me closer to that hot thin body that I so desire. Hang in there....You will do fine. Have a great day!!!! Marcy

Tracey....You are already on my pureed foods if you get creamed soups and puddings. Every doctor's plan for eating is different. I have been on clear liquids since surgery and just started back on protein shakes/drinks this past Monday. I do not get to actually eat soft foods (chicken, mashed tatoes and such****il June 1st. Seems like an awfully long time to go on pureed foods but I am going to follow what the doctor says to do.....they know best even if my stomach is telling me diferently. I wanted a nice big piece of cheese pizza the other day....but I knew that even if I had, had one bit it would have made me sick and that is something that I fear. Marcy

I agree - getting very tired of full liquids. They've allowed SF pudding, but I haven't tried it yet. Mostly making Mrs. Grass Homestyle Veggie soup, without the solid stuff (I put the flavor egg and the packet in 4C of h2o) - I mix that with an unflavored whey protein (8-10 oz of soup at precisely 130F and 1 scoup unjury unflavored) and I get 20g of protein and a decent tasting broth. I don't change my diet until 12 days post op appointment with dietician. I also get that damn drain pulled. I expect she'll progress me to pureed foods, and I'm really looking forward to refried beans, cottage cheese, etc. I'll let you know what she says on Monday! Hang in there full liquid crew!

Thanks Roz, I go to the MD on Monday. I am purposefully not going to buy a scale because I know that I will be on it every minute. I too can see the difference in my clothes and can now get into things that I could'nt before. God Bless you on your journey!!!! Deltagirl90

I had my surgery on 4/25, and the only semi-solid food I have had is mashed cottage cheese. It has worked fairly well for me, in fact, that's what I had for dinner tonight. BTW, just a note of what "not to try" I got the Campbell's Cheddar Cheese soup, and the only milk I had that I could use was Diet Silk -- but it was the vanilla flavor, I figured hey, you can't even taste the vanilla normally -- so I mixed it. COMPLETELY GROSS!!!! YUCK!!! It smelled like cheesy pudding, and tasted even worse! Anyways good luck with getting on with your pureed foods! Kelly G.
