Unusual question about weight loss
I was thinking how r people losing the weight rapidly threw their body .. what i mean is r u peeing more ? Sweating it out? More bowel movements? How does it leave your body so fast? Just curious if anyone notice the new metabolic changes and they notice how the fat leaves their body.. just curious because today i woke up and i am peeing like a race horse and I am away from a scale ugh LOL
so I am just wondering now .. if some people experience a change or notice a change going on in the body
be well
Lisa
I'm not peeing anymore than usual or moving the bowels anymore than usual. Actually, I'm moving less of my bowels due to less food intake. I'm definately not sweating because I'm cold all the time and need to wear a sweater when everyone else is hot. I beleive we are losing weight due to less calorie intake! Plus we are eating healthier too! No sugar or fried, greasy foods! That's surely gonna make a difference! I noticed my face looks thinner & I can actually see bones in my feet that I never saw before because they were so puggy before! lol! It is so much fun hopping on the scale each morning to see how much I lost today! I am proud to say just 8 days post and I'm down 16-lbs.!!!! YAY! And it feeeeellls so goooooodd!!!!!!
Happy Losing!
Cheers!
Your body still needs in the order of 1500 calories for just walking around and living. We're on average only taking in 600 calories from our protien shakes etc. These shakes have nearly no carbs or sugars, so therefore our bodies have to burn something - they burn those lovely globs of fat we've added over the years. The byproduct of switching to a primarily fat burning mode is KETONES - that's why your breath smells "different", as does the urine, and body odor.
Our bodies are actually digesting the fat storage and turning it into energy. It's a more difficult process, and add to that the fact that we're still healing (which demands more energy), that's why we're all so tired at first. Once our bodies get used to this we'll gain more energy.
16 lbs - wow! Great job Lisa. I'm only down 13 lbs, but I did lose 15 lbs on the liquid diet before surgery. At least now I'm not starving all the time!
I am going to get those ketones sticks to see if i am in ketosis yet .. I do understand the process we have to be in .. was a chemist for years but i was thinking the physical body changes ,, I forgot the bad breath body odor OH man i am gonna need more showers more perfume lol.. but thanks for the reminder.. I have a clean fetsh more mouthwash too .. LOL congradulations on your weight loss
be well

I am glad to see that I am not the only one that is always cold.....before surgery I was always very hot and sweated easily....now I am always cold.
I have had more bowel movements this week than last week....probably due to the protein that I am drinking and have been peeing alot....but that is due to the water intake.
Isnt' it awesome to see a thinner face...my watch and rings are loose and I am actually wearing a shirt today that a couple weeks ago was too snug in the chest area and the belly....now it fits (I am personally glad to see the chest shrink.....which I know some people would be upset about but not me ). I am two weeks post op and down 12.2 pounds as of this morning.
Have a great day....Marcy
I had sugery on April 5. I am down 17 lbs. I lost another 10 lbs before surgery. I have noticed that I sweat more at night sometimes. It's really weird. The first 3 weeks post op I had a lot of diarrhea because I was only on liquids. Now,I feel a bit constipated & gassy not that I am on some solids. I do try to drink more fluids but it is hard sometimes.I find myself feeling parched especailly after waking up up. I probably don't pee any more than before, but we're probably peeing out more stuff. I think our bodies are burning that excess fat. I also notice that my hair, skin and nails are dry. My body seems to be letting all of the impurities in my skin out too in the form of acne as well. It seems to be a cleansing of all sorts.Good luck to you & be well.
