Well, I had my surgery last Wednesday, and I have a few issues that I want to see if anyone else is going through. First of all, I know that I'm not getting in enough fluids -- which I am trying to start doing today. Also, my 2 of my incisions throb constantly, not always very painful, just a throb. Also, when I went in for my leak test at the hospital after surgery, the tech said that he saw fluid going back into the top part of my old stomach. He called my surgeon, and the surgeon said that this happens in quite a few of his patients, and that it will correct on its own. I haven't had a chance to ask him about this.. but has anyone else heard of this. Also, everytime I drink protein shakes or eat cottage cheese or anything, I feel this pressure around the area of my breast bone, I thought it was a "full" feeling, but it happens even when I've had only a sip or two of my protein shake. I know this is a lot -- but is anyone else having these issues? Thanks! Kelly G.

As they say, everyone is different, but I hope that I can be of some help as a "measuring stick" since I also had surgery the same day. 1 - I am getting enough fluids, and it's been pretty easy. I am drinking my 64 oz. of water/isopure (not a fan) 2 - If those incisions are the ones on the left - my doc told me to expect this in the first three weeks, and that the pain may actually increase in the 2nd and 3rd week out. I am not experiencing this pain either, but not looking forward to it, if it does peek out in the next two weeks! 3 - never heard of the fluid going back into the top part of the old stomach. as far as I've heard, that stomach is pretty much floating around inside, w/ no in or out, so i'm not sure where this fluid would be coming from. I'd definitely check into this one a little bit more and maybe even throw it out as it's own topic on the main forum. 4 - I don't have the pressure when I eat or drink. This has not been a breeze for me (see my blog), but I'm sorry to hear that it's been even harder for you. Take care and keep me posted.
