Howdy all, My name is Jeneen and I am 1 week post op. My surgery was 23 April. ( swear I'm gonna get that date tatooed next to my scar) Things have been going well so far. Loving the pureed chicken and even shrimp. I am able to get in 2Tbs of protein at each sitting and get down the protein shakes. The hardest part for me now is the level of inactivity. I'm only really sore in the mornings and I think that's from not moving around for 6 or more hours. So far things are going well. I"m happy to be on the otherside and to see there are so many others I can share my journey with. 2 other girls in my support group had their sugeries the day after me. I will make sure if they don't know already that they should be here. Wow Ok I'm rambling. One more thing. I was on 8 meds taking 6 of them twice a day pre-op and now I am taking 2 meds a painkiller and a vitamin!!!!!!!!

Hi Jeneen! Welcome to the April losers team! Sounds like you're doing great so far! And way to get off most of your meds so soon! That's gotta feel good! I haven't been brave enough yet to puree chicken or shrimp... something about drinking my meat makes me wanna Kudos to you for being able to do that! Take it easy & happy losing to you! Cheers, Lisa S.

Hello! I'm so glad you found us, and super-happy to hear that things are going well for you. You will find the best bunch of people and most phenomenal support on the April board. I couldn't have gotten through it w/out them. Right after surgery, all I wished for was enough energy to get to the shared computer in the bariatric ward so I could update all of my A-list friends. It took a couple of days, but once I did, the support and cheers started pouring in. I really am so happy to be here and always welcome a new face. I have also encouraged everyone in our support group to get on this site. I rave about it every single meeting, and think you should too! It's not rambling. It's helping others find the gold that we've stumbled upon. And, as for your meds - CONGRATS is all I can say. I always think that's the best gift that people going through WLS can get. Although I am not on any meds, I feared I would be one day, due to family history and personal bad habits. I'm hoping that w/ the WLS, I will never be the one who has to worry about this. Take care and welcome!
