I'm Hoooommmmeeee!
Yay! I did it!!! I got home around 6pm last night. My surgery was uneventful just like I'd hoped it would be. I was done in 2 hours. The pain has been very tolerable and I've been walking a lot & sipping slowly! I was gearing up for the worst but to be honest my experience wasn't too bad. Now the fun begins trying to push those proteins...ugh. We'll see how it goes. I seem to have a lot of rumblings & grumblings going on in my tummy... my kids say I swallowed an angry lion! I'm not having any gas pains it just sounds awful. I certainly wouldn't want to be in a room where everything was silent....that would be embarrassing for me! I'm assuming my tummy will quiet down over time.
I'm sipping everything pretty well. Need to start measuring just because I'm not sure if I'm getting enough. I tried a protein shake last night but barely got anything down. It just didn't taste good. Soups seem to taste good so we'll stick with those for now.
It's good to be home and finally on the losers side!!!!! Thanks everyone for saving me a seat... it feels so good to be on this side! Off to bed... I'm soooo sleepy!
Cheers,
Lisa S.
Great to hear you're home. Sounds like your tummy's as loud as mine has been - gotta love that gas. I'll have to try some of those gas x strips.
I'm really glad I bought some other proteins from bariatriceating.com - the stuff my program sells is pretty plain. I've found that a chocolate mint shake of about 5 ounces is good, has 23g of protein and is relatively pleasant to drink.
Keep on going - keep posting, it's great to hear from another 25th'er.
