Got back home just a few minutes ago. Surgery went well Wednesday - only took about 2 hours. Not too much pain, just from the Jackson Pratt Drain I've got to have for 12 days. Wow is it hard to get those liquids in - especially when they're the really sweet "bariatrix" ones. Home now and in stock of Isopure liquids, much easier to swallow. I'll keep watching for those of you with the same date (25th) to see how we're all coming along - thanks for the prayers!!!

Anyone have to keep a drain in that long - this thing's gonna get old really quick. Also, is it normal for your guts to churn and gurgle so much - doc's got me on something called reglan (anti-nausea, keeps the stomach emptying) - I think that's to help with that. Just looking for someone to co-miserate with for the next 9 days of drainage and gas.... Still very sure it will all be worth it - keep hanging in there folks!

Welcome back. I had my drain tube in for 8 days. I am almost 4 weeks out and my stomach still talks to me, from what I have heard this is pretty common. Walking seems to help too. Best of Luck!!

Any troubling dashing to the restroom at 4 weeks out? Hoping that's a temporary thing as well (I'm sure it is, as I'm only 3 days out and an avowed hypochondriac).

Since I have started eating more solid food I am not having to run to the bathroom. Actually I haven't had a BM in 2 days. But I still have ALOT of gas. The last couple of days I haven't gotten my total water in. Need to get back up to 64 oz a day.

Yea, mostly running there for the gas, but because sometimes it doesn't come alone I find it's the best place to relieve the pressure. (TMI, I know). I've heard some trying gas x strips, I'll have to check with my program person to see if they're ok with them. I'm sure it will pass (no pun intended).
