How do I get rid of this crap? All my incisions were taped shut. Now that the tapes gone, I have all this gummy tape residue left. Is there a trick to removing it? Help! DD

Hey there! The easiest way is to use alcohol wipes -- they break down that residue. I found that out after scrubbing my one arm like crazy. When I went in for blood work, the lab person looked at my arm and asked why it was red. After I told her I had been scrubbing, she told me the secret. Of course, there are some people who kind of like the gummy residue look! Take care.

Baby oil, vitamin E oil, olive oil - most oils will break it down with a little work. I actually used Goo Gone on the residue that wasn't too close to the actual wounds. Just make sure to wa**** afterward.

Hi DD, My surgeon told me to use nail polish remover (making sure to keep it out of my incisions though ) I discovered I have to hold a cotton ball there for a bit and let it soak before I rub it off, but it works like a charm! Anna

See my surgeon told me to use fingernail polish remover....Do not apply on cuts but just around....Dab it on wait a couple seconds and it wipes right away...

DD.....I am glad you asked this question cause I was wondering the same thing. I tried alcohol but the glue just wouldn't come off. I will try the nail polish....a week is enough time to have this residue on my bod.....Marcy

hi, Use oil, like conola or mazola. It works the best and isnt as harsh as the alchol wipes. I had a skin graft in october and I had tape residue everywhere. This works the best. Jenn
