HELP ME! Im stuck!
Okay, I am 3 weeks and 1 day postop. I have lost 25 lbs- 9 lbs with the pre op diet and 16 since surgery. My problem is that I have not lost a pound in 10days. I have only lost 3 pounds since my 1 week check up! Has anyone else experienced the slow down or is it just me???
I feel like I am doing something wrong or not doing something I should.
I usually get close to 60 gms of protein a day and I drink around 45-50 oz of fluids per day.
I called my nutritionist and she said to give it a couple more days and the weight should start to come off again. She said I might be in starvation mode?? I dont think I can possibly eat any more than I already do. I am lucky to eat 1/4cup at any given time.
Please tell me that I am not the only one going thru this
Cindy
I believe your body is just adjusting to your rapid weight loss. Even though you may not be losing weight, I'll bet your still losing inches. Your clothes are fitting looser, aren't they?
It's quite common, from what I've read, to encounter stalls along the way. Don't wig out. Just stick with the program, and let biology run it's course. One day soon you'll hop on the scale and be down 3 lbs. for no apparent reason. Hang in there. Another big "dumps" coming.

Thanks DD
yes, my clothes are getting a little baggy. Not that I mind, because that means a shopping spree is coming soon.........lol
I am keeping on task and my nutritionist told me to keep doing what I have been doing, so I am.
Hopefully this wont last too long. I am a visual person and when the scales move, I feel better.
Cindy
Cindy,
I have lost a total of 25lbs. I lost 12 lbs pre-op. I haven't deen the scale move in a few days I thought I was the only one this is happening to. I still have this horrible pain in my stomach, which the dr ays is still scar tissue pulling.
I will be glad when the scale starts moving again. Sherry
You are doing great...I had a stop in weight loss also....it lasted about 2 weeks..but as of yesterday I started dropping again...Yes you are probably in starvation mode...Just keep up your daily eatting try not to change anything....then soon your body will see that you are ok and it will start losing again....Your body is saying what the heck....we went through surgery and now she is not feeding us like she used to....I have heard from alot of people say that this happened to them....Hang on and soon it will start again...
Hi Cindy!
Angel checking in! I wrote you this in an email also but please know this is normal for your stage in the game. Like I said in my email to you I almost feel every surgeon should be counseling their patients on this dreaded stall that always seems to hit after the first week or two after surgery and lasts a couple weeks. I stalled for 3 weeks my first month. You are doing excellent Cindy. Get that tape measure out that I sent you! You are losing inches my dear I just know it. I thought I would post on your surgery board b/c I had a feeling you may have posted and wanted to let all of you know what you are going through is normal. I am a week shy from being 5 months out and down close to 75 pounds since surgery and over 90 including the liquid diet. Trust me it will happen.... hang on! Hugs to you my angelette, you are doing great. ~Your Angel, Melissa*
