McDonalds isn't always evil....
I just had a good lunch experience and thought I would share. I was starving at work (I know, lack of planning) and thinking what could I go out and grab for lunch. McDonalds is right around the corner so I looked up their nut. info on the web. I went with the Premium grilled chicken and asked them to hold the mayo. Brought it back, cut the sucker in half and threw away half the bun (the top/bigger half). I also tossed the lettuce because it looked gross, but kept the tomato. Here is the nutrition:
cals: 125
fat: 2g
carb: 14g
prot : 14g
Not too bad for a quick meal at work, plus I have the other half in the fridge for tomorrow. Cost $3.29 (for 2 days). I know it is not the optimal meal, but a good amount of protein and it tasted pretty darn good (plus it was just about right for size, but I ended up throwing a little away). I am not sure if this is ok for everyone's programs, but for mine it is totally acceptable at week 3 (we started purees at day 2 post-op and soft food at day 14 - for us, chicken breast counts as soft food as does bread and tomato).
Oh yeah, and I cut it into small pieces and chewed, chewed, chewed. Enjoy
