Hello again Everyone I am 10 days post op lap band and have lossed 21 pounds. This is GREAT! I feel awesome too. The energy is amazing!!! Here's the thing. I have cooked every night for my wife and kids and on two occassions have grabbed a morsel of food, chewed it to death and swallowed it. I hope this did not have any bad affect on my band. I have been eating soups, yogurts, protien shakes crystal light, and yesterday had some egg drop soup from the local chinese take out. I eat 2 multi-vitamins a day and keep a log of my food intake including amount in ounces, grams of protien and calories. My intake of protien and ounces have been between 50-70, protien between 45-70. With regard to caloric intake, I only have between 350 and 700 a day. Is this a low caloric intake? I know that less calories eaquals weight loss however I'm curious. Any feedback would be appreciated. I have my 1st post operative check up today with my surgeon and will ask him too. I will post his reply to these same questions later so anyone else on the A-Team can use the information. Thanks and have a great day!! Eric

It sounds like you are doing wonderful! You probably shouldn't be eating those morsels but as long as you can handle it and are chewing like mad, enjoy it. You should know that my nutritionist told me anything below 800calories would actually slow weight loss because your body goes into starvation mode. So see if you can increase your caloric intake a little to stay a fueled fat burning machine!
