Hi everyone, I am 23 days post op and have lost 23 lbs thats pretty cool 1 lb a day. I feel pretty good. Has anyone heard of becoming lactose intollerant after surgery? I am having problems with milk with my protein powder it is making me feel sick. Is 1% or skim milk better? I went for a long walk yesterday and had to go up some heels and felt a little pain am I over exerting myself? Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great day. Robert

I did read that there is a chance that your body won't be able to handle lactose after the procedure. So yes that is possible. The 1% will help or try a soy milk instead. And yes if you hurt a little, then you probably did a little too much. Good for you for trying!

Hi Robert, I was told to use skim milk cause it has less sugar. I have been able to handle. Good Luck, Danielle

I have become intolerant to milk and I tried skim milk. I also can't tolerate yogurt or milk protein mixes! best of luck to you. I am able to tolerate spinach and cheese ravioli from the Gerber grads.

Congrats on your 23 pounds GONE....WWoohhhooo!! You can try soy, rice, or even almond milk..... but if you try the soy, it can cause some to have extra gas... so start slow and see how you do with it. Good luck... keep us posted!
