Surgery on Friday and Sore throat today!!!

My surgery is this coming Friday and wouldn't you know it, I got a sore throat on Sunday! I am doing everything I can not to get sick. I haven't been sick all winter and now this. Any suggestions out there? Should I go to the doctor or just hope it goes away. I don't think my surgeon will do surgery if I have a sore throat. Thanks for letting me vent, Joni

I feel for you! I got a cold a week before my surgery. I was prescribed some drugs and an inhaler to use. My lungs checked out -- all was clear -- so I was able to have my surgery. Do you have a fever? The nurses at the hospital all told me they swear by the zinc products that are now in the stores for getting better. My prayers are with you. Keep us posted.

Thanks for your reply...I don't have a fever. I also heard about the zinc thing. I am going to the drug store right after work. Thanks again.

I started to feel a little under the weather a week before surgery...I took my vitamin c and basically took it easy easy easy.....good luck to you!!!! Marcy

I'm with you on Friday! I will pray that your sore throat is nothing serious, and doesn't interfere with your surgery! YAY US!!!
