I have read some post about flipped ports and such, but I haven't read anything about the "feeling" of the port. This may be a "vanity" question... and I guess it doesn't really matter, I'm just curious... Question #1 - Can you feel the port under your skin? Question #2 - Can someone else (Eg: my husband's hand) feel the port if they touch you there? How does this feel if anything? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I just realized that I posted this on the wrong forum. I'm sorry, don't know how that happened. This refers to Lap-Band patients.

Hi Kelly! I am actually glad that you posted these questions here, I am a lap bander almost 2 weeks out. I was told by my surgeon that the port is stitched into the muscle when I go for fills the doc will apparently feel around until he finds it. I am still kinda swollen around that incision, but I can tell you that I cannot feel it. Not when I touch my skin around the incision or when I move around. I go for my first fill on Monday so I will have a better idea then of how deep it is in the muscle. But don't worry - you can't feel it ... and the great news is, when you go through the metal detector at the airport, you won't beep! (That's a question I asked before surgery hee hee). Hope that helps. I will be posting to this forum after Monday to give the details on the fill so you might want to check back in. Good luck to you - Monique

Hi Kelly. I have my first fill on Thursday 4/26/07. I can not feel my port. Thank goodness. lol I think the main thing to be concerned about is if you have larger size breasts. The weight of my breast is uncomfortable. Hopefully as i loose the weight my cup size will go down -- alot. If not, I eventually want a reduction and a lift wouldn't hurt. Sorry if I just gave way to much info. But I keep feeling more pressure under my left breast right where the port is. But I could not feel the port itself. M.Y.
